Matchmaking is unbalanced!

Ground arcade? you can see A10 but that thing is slow pig, if enemy also has someone that spawn fighter, your A10 will not make it to drop the bombs as fighter are spawn right behind CAS and they will likely get you before you reach the battlefield lol

was talking about air arcade (yes I play air arcade please don’t hit me)
I meant that I’m seeing 7.x fighters while my best planes are 5.x which shouldn’t be

If the best is 7.0 and you are 5.7, that is covered by the rules of arcade. That is not a bug. You can prevent it if you only bring one 5.7 and one 5.3 and the rest lower.

The latest update is extremely biased. Like someone said in the thread, there are 2 teams, one thats smashing everyone and one that gets smashed. There is no more even battles. I have found myself on the dishing out “smashes” and had 10 victories in a row. Then had to log off only to come back later in a few hours and get completely “smashed” 20 times. Makes for very shitty gameplay. BUT, since there are kiddies that have access to mom/dads endless credit card, there is no real balance. The owners of WT know this and just want to make a dollar vice creating a “good game play” experience. The bias is completely obvious to the point its hilarious. I mean I had a “new in game” kid in BR 5.7. He just bought his way into the high tier cause the thought he’d be able to smash people. Plus when I see someone’s profile with only 10 games and racks up like 11 kills in the game, you know there is something fishy about it. Either some troll started a new account and “bought” his way up in BR 5.7 (for whatever reason) or their is extreme programming bias. We will never know. Just makes for an overall shitty experience. One that WT and Gaijin just don’t care about. Its not about skill or fair anymore in computer games. Used to be, early on. Then it was and still is all about cheating. I just don’t get it. To this point, not even sure why I play. Just drawn to it. Probably like gambling. The idea that maybe you might win. Oh well.

Are you progressing by spading or playing new vehicles as you get them without modifications, or are you playing the same composition with spaded vehicles and Aced crews?
I’m also curious as to what vehicle mode you’re playing.
This game is meant to cycle you through different match experiences in a grand cycle, so it sounds like you’re underperforming when it’s your turn to score high.

I have a couple of questions to go in this:

  1. Why does it seem that players who’s…rank? is very high, such as 100, get put on the same team. This is not an uncommon occurrence but a regular one as I have looked at the profiles of players of teams that seem to win quickly.

  2. Why is it that many of those players who are of such a high rank come into a 4.0 BR arcade match with the strongest tanks they can? Is it because they are not as good in the lesser tanks? Not nearly as good as those of equal rank? A combination of both iterations and just want to flex?

I ask because if I were a very high rank looking to basically flex in the lower levels, I would come in with the worst, least protected vehicle I could.

Blame battlepass tasks. Some of them are so absurd, that seeking the simplest, most efficient setup leads to this.
Even then it feels like the game intentionally stops us from finishing them quickly.
In the matches I’m allowed to win for a win condition, my teammates will be uptier and strong. I have to compete against them for points. Then in the downtier it’s unwinnable. Teammates evaporate without scoring kills. I’ve lost multiple battles with over 16 kills and 2 or more zone caps.

Also events. Why would I grind tier 6 for 1k-1.5k matches when I can score over 3k consistently in tier 3. It takes all day to get 35k at that rate.

I used to grind my highest ships and farm RP for modifications during events, and even that takes forever, so I drop to my solid coastal/bluewater comps at 4.0.

My first match for Naval after the latest big update was in a full 1.0 uptier to 6.0 where my team had 10 5.0 ships and sprinkled 5.3, 5.7 here and there and I think 2-3 bots. Meanwhile the enemy team had 10x 5.3, some 5.7 and 6.0 with maybe 1 person or a bot being 5.0. To clarify, we had ZERO 6.0 players, so the ENTIRE enemy team was shifted up by 0.3.
I started the match by seeing my teammate being obliterated in his destroyer in spawn. I had to watch entire enemy team of cruisers taking potshots at us, as that’s all they could see. It was just a wall of shells incoming. I barely survived in my destroyer while making funny turns and had to play with 29% crew, which didn’t last long. Very quickly there was a beeline of cruisers for the A-B caps. I still got 3 or 4 kills and didn’t see a point of respawning, as the match was already decided by gaijin.
TL; DR: We lost the match by a mile with no chance of ever winning. Total waste of time and boosters.

My only question is have you ever replied to someone in game prior to this patch with the response “skill issue”

Something like 9 out of 10 matches in a full downtier in Naval is a steamroll loss for me. It’s just unbelievable suck all around for me and my window licking team. Other matches I will get 10+ kills and then multiple matches with 0-1 kills. So many matches I cannot kill anything half of the match, but then suddenly I’m starting to kill everything left and right. That’s the type of the match where one side was winning and POOF gaijin’s magic sprinkles and the other team takes suddenly over and steamrolls the winning team. Everything seems so strange these days.

I’m chat banned for 7+ years now, but I had plenty of people on the forum tell me to “git goot” while they barely have 1:1 k/d. Always makes me laugh.

The “git good” thing is a mockery overall. A lost match doesn’t necessary mean that one is bad, it’s most likely related bad teammates (especially the low level wallets)

Lol, I kinda ask in private chat but am often ignored. Perhaps rightly so.

Ironically, in a match I had subsequent to my last post I was spawn camped by a better ranked player in a casemate tank destroyer. I got off a snap shot immediately that took out his barrel. I then took out his tracks and came up beside him.

I fired off “Shave and a Haircut, Two Bits” with my MG at the side of his tank, then fired my main into the rear of his tank. I then repeated the MG ditty and took him out.

Then I PM’d him and told him that if he was gonna spawn camp he better make sure the player he camps does not make him look like a fool.

When it comes to me, then yes, I am not good enough to compete with many players. Yet, I have observed that on many maps one spawn side seems dominant over the other side. On the map with the horse track, it seems like the team spawning on the side of the map on the side opposite of the train tracks from the horse track have an advantage, while on other maps it seems the same. I could be wrong, and maybe it is just due to my inexperience throwing off the team balance when I get killed easily.

As for “git good”? Yes, and no. It is kind of hard to do so when the other team is loaded with highly ranked players in the strongest armor they can get into, often up-tiering the match a full point above my highest vehicle, and tearing through the oppo.

I also know that with more experience comes skill. When I started playing COD (1) decades (?) ago I sucked. I stuck with it and by the time I stopped playing COD4 in 2015 I was the guy who “got gud”. By that time I was running and gunning with single shot rifles just to make it more interesting. I actually dropped the M4 and was using the G3 for years before I stopped playing.

Because the MM does mix players, it does not build ranked matches.

They could just as well have come into a 5.0 BR arcade match with the weakest tanks they can. It isn’t their decision. 75% of the time, they end up in uptiers. You only see the rare downtiers they get.

I see them all the time in the Arcade matches I play. Due to my suckitude in the game and my very low level, I have deliberately chosen my highest rated vehicle at 2.0 (?), the M3A1. I get uptiered matches all the time, and have had to duke it out with T28E’s in nearly every match. I have to shoot and scoot, hoping to piecemeal my damage with my 37mm gun and all the T28 has to do it get one shot in with the 76mm. The tank is OP for it’s BR.

As far as the KV7 being used by the 100 level player in that 4.0 match? Most of us in there were noobs and had no idea on how to deal with it. That was the first time I had seen it and in Arcade often you cannot take the time to line up the best shot as the other guy always knows you are there, especially at that level of experience.

Sure, I get frustrated but I know a lot more than I did a few weeks ago, and I know I will figure out how to get good shots on it, in due time, but to see a 100 level come into what is mostly a noob (we know what we don’t know, we just do not have the skills yet) server and do what he did is…

Just flexing and taking advantage of our noobitude.

At least it gives me experience in shooting and scooting!

Which does not contradict what I say.

The T28E is a 2.3 tank, it is barely one BR step above you. The only games without the T28E option would be full downtiers. So 1.0 tanks would have to battle you.

The “noob servers” are called newbie battles and most likely you were not in one, with nearly a thousand games under your belt.

And this is what you need to learn. Won’t get easier.

As I said before, the players can’t pick what games they get thrown in. Usually, they end up ingames where their 4.0 tanks are not king of the hill, same as you with your M3A1.

I just want to say, dude, your issue isn’t with the players, it’s the BattlePass. Some tasks are pretty ludicrous and require days of relatively constant on and off play, so it’s easier to drop down to the lowest BR they can go to complete it. For example, that KV7 player may have a task to kill x amount of targets with a Tank Destroyer, and it’s a low fuss premium from an event, so he slaps it on.

How often do players get Heavy Metal Hero for a Special Task at Tier V+ compared to a low BR line up with aced crews?

I’ve suggested for a while to have alternate objectives available for Tasks, so they aren’t so laser specific. For example, why must I grind again for a win at 85% activity just because I won with 84%? It’s ludicrous. Just pick a play amount threshold and let it auto-complete it you contributed X amount of matches or RP for the day. Or change Daily Tasks to RP for the day and Special Tasks to what they currently are now. It’s just too much even with prime meta crews, and for what reason? So it feels like a real unique reward for a player to have the top reward Title for the season? Oof…

Maybe they need to bump Special Tasks up to Tier IV. I don’ t know. Gaijin never seems to take any broad steps away from what they’ve always had. Too much coding required to mix up the Task system.

They could even scale the tasks per tier, but they don’t. I think they vary by mode, so the count requirements are reduced in RB and Sim, but I think a more advanced task system would alleviate stomps like you’re complaining about. I have no qualms about stomping you guys with meta lineups I’ve developed to complete these tasks because the tasks are so ridiculous at times. If I set about spading tanks or playing Naval, I will accumulate Special Tasks into double digits, or it’ll be late in the evening when I realize I haven’t completed a Daily Task, so I go to my stomp lineup. And to chunk down the special tasks, I go to my stomp lineup. Sometimes even the event grinds are too tedious, and I return to stomp lineup.

I could spend all day long in various stomp lineups for each mode and several low BRs, but I’m personally not into that. Maybe once in a long while to enjoy some vehicles I like, but I like to get good at things, and this BattlePass system requires a lot.

Here’s a list of random ideas to fix Event Thunder and BattlePass Thunder to combine them with actual Warthunder.

Add Either/Or completion variables to Event Thunder Tasks and BattlePass Tasks. Here are some that come to mind.

Win Tasks with Battle Activity total requirement reduced by winstreaks.
Battle Activity nullified by player score in the match.
Modification research completion Bonus applied to Event Thunder tasks.
Number of Daily matches count eventually trumps Task requirements.
(Meaning you can complete According to Intelligence streak requirement by simply playing ~10 matches.)
Factor in match length time to Naval battle tasks which are expected to go to duration.
Have post-match awards trump battlepass tasks. For example, Win Survivor 1x trumps Win Heavy Metal Hero 2x, and Lose Survivor 1x trumps Win Heavy Metal Hero 1x. This trump method could be applied to multiple different types of tasks where win counts as double and loss counts as half tally. This can boost an Event Task too.
Why make me queue again simply to try and Win with Multistreak 2x when you obviously threw me into a forced loss downtier with paper teammates that can’t cap despite me getting 16 kills and 5 multistreaks for no progress on Task?

BattlePass should nudge players to play a minimum amount on top of Daily Login, but it’s more like a job. Rerolling tasks should be player preference, not desperation in order to not consume entire life.

Add a new Inventory Item for No Lifers on top of simplifying BP like Wagers but they are complete at your own pace, fixed, no trump variables tasks like current BP tasks. Can be Lions rewards or some other ridiculous prize like a seasonal title or decal where the Job players can have their own thing, and players can choose to ignore that or not. People that want that won’t recycle them. Flex this recycle addon hard. It’s the best feature you guys have added in a long time. You can make the Inventory Item be a SL sink too. How have you guys not come up with your own ideas. Why am I having to do this.
