Match awards and Ace spade system

What do you think if Gajin should do something about this or should they rework this. Vote in Poll

Match awards

Hello

Match awards, often seen as mini-achievements, reset at the end of each game and can be earned anew in subsequent matches. Each of these awards provides a silver lions reward upon the match’s conclusion. However, the current system has significant shortcomings. For instance, assisting a teammate is not as rewarding as it should be.

To enhance team play and overall experience, match awards should be progressive. For example, if a player repairs or assists an MVP, they should receive a percentage of the MVP’s current XP or kills. Currently, the lack of adequate incentives for team play leads to players hesitating to assist others in critical situations, such as when a tank is injured or trapped. Implementing a system where higher risk correlates with higher rewards would encourage better teamwork and improve the game’s dynamics.

Improving the Ace/Spade System in the Game

In the current game, achieving Ace/Spade status means researching all modules of a vehicle, whether it’s a tank, ship, or plane. However, once a vehicle is “spaded,” it only receives a marker, which doesn’t carry significant value. There are no major achievements or substantial rewards for this accomplishment. Additionally, when new modules are added to that vehicle, players are required to re-spade it, which diminishes the sense of mastery.

To enhance this system, a vehicle that has been spaded should remain spaded, regardless of any new additions. Mastering a vehicle should be a permanent achievement, reflecting the player’s dedication and expertise. This change would not only provide greater recognition for players’ efforts but also ensure that their accomplishments are preserved over time.

What about tying in a visual upgrade as part of the process, so lets say the “tank” has been spaded, there is an option to unlock more decal positions (cant remember the naming of this - not at my PC at the moment) but they could maybe offer, sandbags or Extra Tracks to act as armour, or even camo netting to improve the visual of said vehicle

This in turn would give a visual distinction on the battlefield, for somebody who’s just unlocked the vehicle, as opposed to somebody who’s just spaded it.

Great Idea BTW, you have my Vote

i wonder why it was closed then re-opened ???

I mean they could take a page out of world of tanks with the visuals on the tank barrel when you’re in a high percentile with that vehicle.

Also, they use the unlockable camos via kill points as your incentive of using the vehicle X amount of times to rack up those points for them.

And to add more options for tracks, sandbags and etc would mean they would deter from history of the tank in its natural way, because it would add more armor, which some vehicles get those visual upgrades anyways via modifications.

I get where you’re coming from but it’s gaijin. lol. Let’s be real, if there isn’t money in it for them they won’t add it. I mean come on, profile icons for 1000GE, boxes that cost 99GE to buy but 599GE to open… those things should be free to open when earned in the first place. And if you buy them they should only cost the 99GE to open. Idk anyone that actually opens that trash with those horrible odds at $5USD per box with a 98% chance of just getting a camo you could get cheaper.

My bad for the tangent, but ya get my point. lol.

But as for the OP suggested, the reward for repairing another tank is pretty abysmal, getting more XP for that should be like partial XP/SL for that repaired tanks life. Would help keep players together and actually take notice of the repair icon since a stock vehicle is pretty crappy if you don’t have repairs yet.

Imho you refer to a title “MVP” which is not present in wt.

  • From a general perspective an MVP in a shooter excels also in scoring kills - but mainly by playing the objective. That’s why kills (in a lot of shooters) near cap zones gets an extra bonus - just to reflect that capturing or defending such a zone is usually way riskier (as it is marked and visible for everybody) than sniping an enemy across the map.

  • As gaijin is steering this game like a plain shooter i do agree that the current (s)kill bonus is not considering any action towards playing the objective and incomplete as long as the other side of this equation (= a bonus for killing the current top player) is missing.

  • But participating from the achievement of another player is imho the wrong way - either gaijin will lower the rewards of the “saved” player - or they “refinance” these additional rewards with cutting other income.

  • From a game play perspective it is obvious that every smart player tries to keep highly valuable friendlies alive - so if 2 team mates are in trouble it is logical that you cover the way more experienced (and usually also more successful) player instead of the rookie which made the wrong decisions.

So imho the current SL & RP bonus for winning a match is already covering “useful” actions - which includes keeping “valuable” teammates alive.
