The new Martlet Missile built by Thales has been added to the game at top tier but as a 350mm pen HEAT missile only traveling at Mach1.5. In reality this system is essentially a slow Vikhr with a proximity fuse making it effective against all sorts of slower or unaware aerial targets.
In its current in game form you’ve added a helicopter to top tier, against the most sophisticated anti air systems (which are more than capabilities of engaging even fast flying munitions) and have failed to give the missile it’s actual utility to reliably engage air targets effectively.
Can the proxy fuse be added please or the BR of the Wildcat significantly reduced because 4 spikes and 20 missiles that are incredibly unlikely to take out anything at that BR makes the comment on its dev post “ This weaponry, combined with the helicopter’s signature maneuverability and speed, makes the AW159 one of the best attack helicopters in the game.” laughable.
I feel like I just wasted three days grinding this thing out because it isn’t usable at its Battle Rating, please fix this.
The below link is to the Thales store page for the Martlet, I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get their data sheet as a regular Jo but everything I’ve mentioned is on their main page right there.
Yeah, the wildcat is a complete joke of a vehicle. Also the fact that the moment you attempt to make any kind of a maneuver it just falls from the sky by itself without you being able to do anything is utterly stupid
So form the looks of this all it’s actually set up for in game is detonation around 2.5m from the target and firing the warhead in a jet straight forward? Well beyond its effective stand off distance, it’s not listed as having a proxy fuse just that it as a trigger distance for the HEAT warhead, further reducing its penetration.
I get you but I don’t think they’ve properly implemented this into the game because the missile is not reliable for shooting anything down without a direct hit which is the whole point in using this over the starstreak.
