Description: The Martin Baltimore was an American twin-engine, medium bomber of the Second World War. After the Italian armistice, which occurred on 8 September 1943, a part of the Regia Aeronautica fled to the south of the country in order to continue the war on the Allied side. At the end of the same year, only a handful of bombers and transport aircraft remained available to the Aeronautica Cobelligerante, and so, the British premier, Winston Churchill, made public is intention of supplying secondhand bombers from the USAF and the RAF. Among various different types of aircraft, there were also 49 Baltimore A30s, a twin-engine American bomber built under British requirements for the Royal Air Force. But the Baltimore had very different flight performances compared to other Italian aircraft, and so various pilots were sent to Egypt to a training unit to gain experience on the machine. In 1944, the training for all the remaining pilots was started in Italy and was concluded some months later, but not without fatal incidents. The Italian Baltimores were then used alongside a RAF bomber squadron based in Italy for raids on the German-occupied Yugoslavian territory. The various Italian units performed well, conducting many successful raids against bridges, railways, and other targets. After the end of the war, the so-called “Stormo Baltimore” was used for personal transport, since Italy was banned from having bombers due to the end war edicts. The Italian Baltimores continued to operate until 1948, when they were all decommissioned and very likely scrapped.

Why it should be in game: It could be a nice option for a low tier premium or event veichle.

+1, Im also working towards making a baltimore suggestion for the UK, heres a data sheet for the Mk.V that might be useful (ignore the bomb load as its for depth charges, they could carry up to 3000 lbs of bombs)
