Marketplace split: thoughts?

So as of today, CIS players still have access to the Marketplace, but have to go through https://trade.pixstorm.ru/ now. And players without CIS accounts can’t go there. This is similar to the splits in store-front and forum-posting that also took effect today, as well as the removal of Steam login as an option in the CIS for PC.

On the other side, the currency is no longer GJN, but PIX, in line with the new CIS publisher PixelStorm. It’s believed players on the CIS side will get their GJN converted on a 1:1 basis to PIX, starting today. This is a little different from what we were originally told (well, Russian-speaking players were told) that the single unified Marketplace would remain.

So my question would be, because no one can see the other side any longer to keep a check, is there going to be any guarantee coming from Gaijin that the 1:1 pegging of GJN to the new Pixels will stay the same? Given that Pixels would have to be refreshed with rubles, that could be hard to maintain, but otherwise there would seem to be a significant risk of loss of market trading information down the road here that impacts players using either market interface.

It’s stated on russian forum that 1 GJN/PIX will equal 1 USD and that it has and won’t have any relation to russian currency.

Links still work, we just can’t post on the Russian forum now I think. Maybe send a link?

I mean, it’s not exactly nothing to withhold info like this. When the announcement of the publisher switch was put out in Russian-language social media and not all the other countries earlier this month, everyone saw the GJN value of their marketplace coupon holdings crash about 25% as people dumped theirs on the market after that news, and wouldn’t have known why without access to info on the Russian side.

I’ll find some proofs and update this message with a screenshots in a moment.
