Theres a issue ive found when playing anti air on top tier, most if not ALL maps have at least TWO spots where the enemy can snipe into it and just kill every SPAA from the other side of the map, im aware that it might be bad positioning, but man if gaijin want players to play anti-air more they should maybe fix their map design and make it so that they die almost every match to a random MBT on the other side of the map that just happens to be able to see into spawn. PLEASE
I would love it if the spawns in War Thunder were in some kind of fortification or motor pool
Top tier SPAA need separate spawns like helicopters do, and with the future additions of modern SAMs this pretty much calls for it.

Especially on large Maps if u want to play SPAA its not worth to even spawn to begin with, faster to just return to hangar and wait out the crewlock than to try and get something done with SPAA on them
These multi vehicle sam units need extended map access.
They are so high up, most cover is not made for them and maps are generally too small.
I lose them in the dozens just to enemy tank fire. One should have told Gajin. IRL these units are not that close to the frontline. Whats the point of adding it to these mini maps? They’re getting killed in no time and most small city maps like Sweden block their radar arcs (too man close buildings) and render them mostly useless. You can’t pick up low flying helis etc.
Why can’t we drive these busses into offmap areas? It makes no sense as it currently is. Maps are huge, but ground units are locked into a super tiny area, like its 2006 and not 2026.
I honestly find them more playable on the small Maps than on the large ones where you have zero Cover and can be shot at from literally everywhere and are just an open giant target for anyone. On the small ones theres at least Stuff to hide behind and you won’t be instantly seen by all of China but yeah the Buildings blocking Radar is quite the issue…nonetheless from my experience so far i find them still preferable
Small maps make you very exposed to CAS. Cause thermal target pods spot you very easily. There are no options to dive off the spawn lol.
Bigger maps at least allow you to move out. But you’re not wrong. I also remember 3km shots through vegetation etc. taking out your radar dish or worse. Enemies often spot you across the map. Thats true.
These units just shouldn’t be there. Iris T has an IRL firing range of 40+ km. The radar much farther. You should position it to the air field lol. Maybe drive up a launcher unit close to the enemy. But never ever be on the same cqc map with the tanks.
