I would like to propose a new Ground Forces map based on one of the most iconic battlefields in history Verdun (France).

Map Type: Ground Forces (Arcade, Realistic, Simulation Modes)
Suggested Tiers: BR 3.0 - 6.0 (for WWII Battles)
Hello everyone,

Many first think of the 1916 battle, but a WWI-only map would be difficult to balance for War Thunder’s vehicle tiers.
Therefore, my proposal focuses on August-September 1944. During this time, General Patton’s Third Army liberated Verdun, and fighting took place on the very same scarred battlegrounds of 1916.
This map offers a unique opportunity to see WWII tanks (Shermans, Panthers) fighting within the iconic landscape of World War I.

On August 31, 1944, the US 5th Infantry Division liberated the city of Verdun. In the following days, American forces, supported by armor, advanced northeast to secure the strategic high ground dominating the area—the ancient WWI battlefields, including the famous forts.

The environment of the map would be : the ground is that of 1916 (omnipresent shell craters, shattered forests, ruins) but the battle is that of 1944.
Here is a proposal for a 1 Capture-Point (Conquest).

Gameplay: Fighting takes place among ruined gun turrets, collapsed concrete corridors, and thick bunkers. It offers excellent “hull-down” positions.

The terrain environment must reflect the historical scarred landscape of the WWI battlefield. Forests should consist primarily of shattered stumps and broken logs rather than dense, intact trees, ensuring line-of-sight is primarily broken by the shell craters and the terrain itself, not thick foliage.

Here are some aerial photos:

The misty atmosphere and the incredibly rough terrain would naturally force short to mid-range engagements. Effective use of the terrain (the craters) would be the key skill.

Here’s what the card might look like:
