Map Rotation Modes

This was just after the implementation of night battles filter they destroyed the entire rotation.

I think this is just a case of confirmation bias, you find what you are looking for when that might not be the actual truth.

You can look through your replays for the past 14 days here: ( Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On ) just search your name (or log in to the website and check the “Replays including my participation” box and then click search).

I very much doubt you’ll find that many repeats.

Since you’re cutting off the times there i’m guessing that almost all of these are ones where you left the match the millisecond you saw the map (or the teams?).

That isn’t a behaviour that is expected nor encouraged (hence why crew lock exists) and you complaining about getting repeat maps in those situations is in my personal opinion not an actual issue an honestly on you.

Additionally, how many repeats is that? 15? out of what 2-300 matches played in two weeks? while also instant quitting matches.

I haven’t experienced getting the same map back to back since they made the change. My issue is getting the same mode repeatedly. Not a fan of conquest maps because they are usually butchered so it’s like a corridor. This leads to a lack of options in play style and spawn camping is rampant.

The attention given to designing and creating well rounded maps is a problem.

You cant not understand the problem is not how many. The problem is this can happend more often after the supposed “fix” or “improvment”.
And we are talking the game have over 50 maps so if leave a map and go to play another different BR and nation and you get the same map again, again and again is because is not working propertly.
I dont no why but is a bad behavior in this game and forum just blame the players for well know game problems, maybe in a abd attempt for hide the brutal incompetence plague this game.
The recent dev video is a great example of this.

This is not the case.

There are not 50 total maps for all BR’s. The map pool is dependant on BR.

While most of the variations of maps are practically the same there are some maps that have VERY distinct mission variations as well even though it’s the same map name:

I would not say that the above are “the same map” really.

Then you have the additional fact that some maps have more variations than others, there are some maps with 15 different options while there are some with only 2 or 3.

LOL. You get EXACTLY THE SAME MAP AND THE SAME VARIANT even the same starting point !!!

Map rotation is broken and is not a player problem. This is just another mega Gaijin fail like when they annouced a fix for HEAT damage and surprise HEAT dont even close to be fixed!!!

Well in my case is Battle. Is not for the mode “per se” is becuase most of the maps are extremly bad design and dont works very well with this mode so i started skip battle mode sadly the only choice for the moment.
I remember in 2017 i barely skip a battle and now i rarely play a battle. Everything related with maps in this game is very very bad.

I actually sat through 20 pages of your logged server replays and found 5 repeats where 3 of them were maps you actually played and not skipped instantly to next one.

That is 3 legitimate repeats in 400 matches so on average over you past 400 replays you have a repeat rate of 0.75%

I tell you the problem is higher during certain times for example during the nights probably due less players-less battles.
But thanks for ignore all the other pics i uploaded maybe i can create a topic filled with the BS map rotation but i no going spend more time and of course money in this game.

Before the “fix” you can barely find 1 or 2. Just another great example of Gaijin quality!!!

The replays i looked at are your past 400 battles regardless of time of day. Of those 5 repeats two happened in the morning and 3 in the evening. (UTC time)

Because you crop them in a way where they can’t be verified, they are also from the in-game history so doesn’t show date either, for all i know those images can be two years old. Which is why i said to look at the server replays through the link i provided.

Before the fix i personally had several occurrences where i had the same map 4-5 times in a row and you can search the forum for you self and see a similar pattern of complaints. The current map rotation is vastly better in terms of repeats.

How you think less than 1% of your matches being repeats is an issue i do not know. purely mathematically if you actually had a map pool of 50 maps (which it isn’t) with perfect randomness you would have on average 2% chance to get a repeat map (1/50 odds of the same map as you just had). So the current rotation is even better than actual perfect random.

I don’t think that’s it because when you “Return to Hanger” at the battle prep screen before the game even starts, the system counts you as participating and getting a win/loss. It also adds another battle to your battle total. So for all intents and purposes you “played” the match as far as its concerned even though you never loaded in, it added all that to your game totals.

I do it all the time, playing only about 2 games for every 10 offered.

I think what Necronomica meant was that unfinished battles might not be counted by the matchmaker as already played on maps which kinda makes sense in a way.

I believe you are fighting an unwinnable battle against this guy. He has been consumed by confirmation bias. Even half the images he sent in that long-ass 30pictures reply don’t contain any real repeats. many were repeated maps but they were not directly one after the other but had a different map between them. And as you already said the cut off times are a bit suspect.

I personally have not experienced repeat maps and I have played quite a bit since the new matchmaker. I believe it is a good change but I wanna steer back to the actual topic.

Layer rotation should probably be tuned similarly as well. I have noticed a bunch of either single cap or battle layers in a row and ngl those are less fun than 3 cap ones. I still played all of the matches since I was squadded up and also usually tend to not quit matches just because I got a map I don’t like.

Before that battle finishes those things have yet to be added to your stats so if you instantly leave and search for a new match the previous battle have not yet been logged into your history so probably will not be accounted for as a map played by you by the matchmaker. This is just a guess though but it would make sense if that is the case.

I know how these forums tend to be easily derailed by a slightly relevant topic that just gets out of hand. Usually 2 people that just don’t budge in any direction and just keep repeating the same points and clogging them up.

But at least we don’t get the same maps as often. Though I would almost prefer the same map with different layers over getting battle 5 times in a row just on different maps
