Map choices

what maps do you hate the most give reason why and what you think could make it better if it was changed.
ill go first The Abandon Factory when they changed this map for some reason they made it to where the bottom side got a few more buildings to help with spawn camping while the top side nothing changed i do wonder why.

What maps I hate is far too big of a list.

What maps I do love though is a much shorter one.

I will stick to GRB/GSB for this.

This is, hands down, the most fun I’ve had on ground in a while especially with the GSB ruleset.

What are we looking at? Second battle of El Alamein.

Why?

  1. Diversity. Map provides a section for hull-down sniper duels in the south-west corner, urban brawling in the center and balanced conditions at C. Every tank has the opportunity to press its advantage while minimizing its weaknesses by going to the right section.
  2. The map is open and easy to navigate - mobility pays off as you can ditch a hopeless frontline to assist your team with the push elsewhere. Not like Finland where unpassable terrain forces 3 lanes except for 2 small entries. Not like New Holland where outside the city is so open, getting through it is impossible
  3. Terrain altitude is interesting. In the open section is a lot of hills, dunes and whatnot. Even though it’s open terrain, it’s very possible to use those dunes to reposition and sneak up on the enemy.
  4. Sightlines outside the urban environment are going to be half a kilometer pretty reliable. This makes armour far more effective as shells lose a lot of penetrating power over long distances. This makes tanks built for low-mobility/low armour sniping quite viable as they can overcome this disadvantage.

It does have a weakness though, which is some high ground positions provide an easy view of the northern spawn and there’s a few weird mountain goat position. These seem more oppressive in GRB than GSB, but I’m not sure why (view limitation? Player number?)
