That’s an IAR98, if you look at the closure speed you can see that he’s going 500+ miles per hour, last time I checked there are no heli that can reach that speed lol, so no, it was not DIRCM, this was just peak gaijin entertainment. i went back and grabbed a better screen recording

I would also like to ask, has anyone else been having issues with launching stingers? I keep having an issue where I lock the enemy then press fire multiple times and it just won’t fire

I have been dreaming for a long time about how FIM92K will give a real Datalink capability. And Mistral & Type91 will get real overload, acceleration and seeker sensitivity.

Buffing MANPADS would be a net negative for them, it’s a well known fact at this point.
Stingers Type 91 will not get +1 combat rating due to their range and relatively low overload. The only thing that can get a higher combat rating is Mistrals, but they will be really very powerful MANPADS.

Stingers have reports on much higher G load and range.

I know very well about the higher overload, but after so much time has passed, it is hard to believe that the Gaijins will give the Stinger such a value. Regarding the longer range than the Stringers’ 5-6 km, in my opinion, in reality, the overload and flight speed after the Stinger’s 5-6 km flight will drop to such low values that any aircraft will be able to easily dodge it. In turn, the Mistrals, due to their extremely high speed in reality (830-930 m / s), overload of 30G, and aerodynamically streamlined shape, can fly and effectively hit targets much further than 5-6 km, I suspect values of 8-9 km. Because of this, the Mistrals could easily receive a combat rating of 10.3-10.7 (this will need to be clarified against aircraft with high-precision weapons). The Ozelot will not be able to be physically effective higher than 10.0 even with the improved FIM92K.
If they really have an effective range of 8-9km they’d go much higher than just 10.7, just see Type 81 as an example.
Stingers with 5-6km of effective range would basically be Strela counterparts so with all the benefits that come with the platforms Stingers are mounted on, they’d definitely go up to 10.7 or so.

I’m fine with that tbh. Leaving an entire category of munitions in an ahistorical state to satisfy some gaijin dev who doesn’t want to fill the 9.X slots back up is stupid.
What we have right now is fantasyshit. And that’s disgusting.

MANPADS with 5-6km of range facing off munitions that can be launched from 6km+ away isn’t a fun prospect, and at least in their current place they can do something against CAS.

Because their AA counterparts exist at the same BR while also posing as a pretty low threat to aircraft.
You should know that in the game there is only Mistral 1, the earliest version, but it also gives 830 m/s high acceleration in reality (which is not observed in the game), high overload (also not observed in the game). Mistral 3 have a speed of 930 m/s and a range of 8-9 km and a matrix seeker. Your example with Type 81 is ridiculous. In the game it does not have LOAL mode, matrix seeker is not implemented.
Only with real overload of 22G, datalink and decompression for ground equipment and CAS. Just yesterday I encountered an A6 TRAM that bombed us while being absolutely out of reach. This is impossible in reality.
Without decompression Stinger vehicles like LAV could go to 10.7 with those buffs.
