Man-in-the-Loop: Guidance Mode for Munitions with TV and IR Seekers

It will make the Mi-28NM even more toxic than it already is…now they can just lock onto a tank wreck, launch a LMUR and select a proper target mid-flight…

Not to harang you (ahhh and about that previous haranging… chronic pain… medication… it causes “episodes” I do apologize for my behavior…) but back to the point, will this feature allow IOG/GNSS launches? or will it require at least a point lock?

LMUR and KH’s are the GRB ammunitions which cause most casualties. Other systems might get it added, but it won’t change anything.

Thats why its mostly a Russian thing. Agressive lofting, high HE yields, super speed.

Spice, PGM, Slam’s are all slow things, easy to intercept. Spikes anemic on top, hard to kill tanks with it. Bad stand off capabities. You could change targets with that mechanic all day, it won’t change alot. They won’t connect or fail to destroy the target. Like they do now.

I know. GNSS volley…hover up sorthly before the timer runs out and select targets. Go into cover again. Minimal exposure. Will be another BMPT moment.

At this point I have resorted to not playing anything above 9.7 anymore.

You can even do it straight from the heliport, constantly reloading. Making opponents to waste all SAMs, cause they don’t know whether its dumbfire or whether player might hover up to target stuff.

I’d just fire 3-4 volleys into the map before I’d think to do it for real.

The LMUR can infact track a moving target.

That’s pure cope

I’m pretty sure the reason is the same as for the removal of the ability to lock UAVs using Spikes:

MITL Spikes and Akerons could reliably be used as NLOS weapons as soon as there is a wreckage in an (un)fortunate spot

If Gaijin really wanted to add MITL to ground launched FnF munitions and Russia not having a weapon capable of that was a concern, they could take the Serbian ALAS system and add it to the USSR tree

Similarly the US could get Spikes through Australia in form of the Redback, which was entered in a US competition for a Bradley replacement or in form the Kf41, which also was considered by the US

Pretty sure they aren’t gonna add mmW

They’ve had multiple opportunities to do so and said that they don’t want to add ATGMs that are able to track through smokes

or just launching on their own recon drones and switching seeker after it inevitably misses or before it hits it

That’s apparently no longer possible, initially that was one of my own concerns as well, as I thought that still was possible

This was removed. Now it’s only wreckages and player vehicles.

Slow moving targets as mentioned. In terms of war thunder it hitting tanks travelling 40-50kph it cannot.

So do you have evidence about maximun speed of the target they can they track? Because in game no F&F missile have a taget speed limit regardless of the guidance method…

If hammers, agm84, and hosbo recieve the same nerf then sure, but unfortunatley lmurs should also be hitting at 22km no issue, we have seen the footage

This used agm-65d seeker. It is known for certain that the AGM-65D is capable of locking on to a target at a range of 12 km.

Buddy you cant even find evidence to prove its a top attack missile.

We have a missile that isnt designed to kill tanks but is more of a stand off range missile.

As the best tank killing missile in game.

We have seen them hit static targets at those ranges. And singular targets not rippled fired in FnF mode.

The missile in game performs nothing like it does IRL.

On the move btw, also see the dotted x, that means that it not on manual correction either.

As I said it does not work like it does in game.
X may mean autotrack I dont know.

What we do know is that the majority of LMUR shots have been controlled by the gunner.
