Hello everyone and Gaijin tournament organizers,

First of all, thank you for the continuous updates and dedication to the War Thunder Tournament Service System (TSS) and the WTCS seasons. I recently contacted Gaijin Support regarding this issue, and they kindly recommended that I bring this matter to the official forums as a formal suggestion so that the development team and the community could review and discuss it together.

The competitive scene is in a great spot, but there is still a massive, untapped potential regarding player participation in North and South America due to a structural time zone barrier. Currently, the vast majority of daily tournaments are scheduled around 16:00 to 18:00 UTC. While this works perfectly for the European player base, it translates to midday or early afternoon in the Americas (e.g., 13:00 EDT in North America / 14:00 BRT in South America). For almost anyone who works or attends school/university, participating in these tournaments is virtually impossible.

The Proposal: I would like to suggest implementing a repeated or mirrored slot for the daily tournaments at 22:00 UTC, specifically hosted on the US server cluster.

To be clear, there is no need to create entirely new tournaments, separate rule sets, or unique competitive events from scratch. The objective is simply to introduce flexible scheduling for the tournament formats that already exist. By mirroring the existing daily lineups to a later slot, Gaijin can accommodate the American schedule without adding administrative overhead or complicating the tournament system.

Why this would be a win-win scenario:

  • True Global Inclusivity: A slot at 22:00 UTC translates to 18:00 EDT and 19:00 BRT. This is the absolute sweet spot for prime-time gaming in the Americas, allowing thousands of passionate players to finally join the competitive scene.
  • Latency Optimization (US Cluster): Currently, TSS tournaments are predominantly hosted on the European cluster. For players in the Americas, this introduces a severe high-latency (ping) disadvantage. Coupling the 22:00 UTC slot with the US server cluster would solve both the timezone barrier and the connection issues, ensuring strict competitive integrity and fair gameplay.
  • Increased Engagement & Bracket Sizes: Splitting or mirroring brackets ensures that tournaments run with higher player density, generating more active data, better matchmaking, and greater competitive variety across different regions.

We have a highly passionate competitive community in the Americas that wants to support and play in the TSS. A minor adjustment to include a later slot on the US cluster would go a long way in making War Thunder eSports truly global.

Thank you for your time and consideration!
