I want to raise a concern about the recently leaked anime premium tanks — the MBT-2000 for China and the Type 90B for Japan. While the designs themselves are exciting, there’s a major issue that I believe is holding these vehicles back: they still only come with Gen 1 thermals.
First of all, Gen 1 thermals are significantly harder to use compared to Gen 2 thermals. They literally hurt the eyes, especially during extended play sessions, and make spotting enemies in certain maps unnecessarily difficult. Because of this atrocious experience, many players NEVER buy Gen 1 thermal premiums and refuse to play tanks with these thermals on.
Also, many of us, including myself, most of my friends, and I suspect a large silent portion of the playerbase, were genuinely excited to try out China or Japan through these premiums. I personally have the air tree of both nations grinded out, and don’t mind buying a premium tank at full price. But the lack of Gen 2 thermals (especially on Japan) makes me bored update after update, as the lack of Gen 2/3 thermal premium mbt completely demotivates me to hop on the game and start grinding.
Now that these new tanks are planned for future update, please consider updating these tanks with Gen 2 thermals before their official release. It would make them far more appealing, improve player experience, and ensure parity with other nations’ premium offerings. I sincerely hope Gaijin can consider this for the many potential payers that need just this one minimal change to decide to make purchases.
The only advantage gen 1 thermal have is just more easy to spot someone that hide in bushes
Why should tanks that had gen 1 thermals historically not have gen 1 in game?
You also don’t use them constantly, you use them for quick scans to locate targets.

Its a choice to not hurt their eyes with Gen1 thermals - and therefore, as someone who would like to pay, I propose an item that would actually not hurt my eyes, otherwise it would demotivate me (and a lot others) to pay.
There isn’t enough tradeoffs for premiums though. Quite a few nations especially Japan that I mentioned, there simply isn’t a proper Gen2+ premium. Theres nothing to trade.
I honestly don’t care if they also give TT better thermals too, or if premium is .3 higher. I only want a tank thats playable and don’t hurt my eyes.
Buy the Type 16 FPS to grind out the TKX(P) and finish the tree with that
Or make a suggestion for a premium tank that actually has gen.2 thermals.
Tanks should not be getting ahistorical buffs, especially premiums.
sorry is this against forum rules? i mean i just heard about it, not 100% sure. news are that they are adding anime tanks for 3 countries including mbt2000 90b and the other one is a british tank that i dont care about

i mean ztz96b and tkxp tbh. but gameplay matters more than historical stuff, especially for premiums
You can submit a bug report with documents supporting the claim of gen2 thermals.
