I do see your point, but I feel as though adding a turretless testing prototype would make more sense, considering that both the 150mm armor and of course the primary turret were planned features of the finalized vehicle, meanwhile the (albeit unarmed) prototype that underwent testing had the frontal turrets constructed, and therefore ready for armament.
But ultimately, it does not matter too much, I don’t think Gaijin would add more than one anyways, and I think that’s alright for the sake of making this vehicle more exclusive to the researchable tree.
Although, perhaps a Mi-To with the 75mm armor could be worth a suggestion, just for the sake of a backup to advocate for in the case of the O-I becoming event feeder.
I’ve been preparing for a suggestion about Mi-To for a long time, maybe I’ll finally write it. Ho-Ri is a prototype as premium and production as a technology tree. It would be nice if it was the same with OI. You can even change your weapons. Mi-To may get a 105 mm gun instead of a 150 mm one. I would like to see both of these vehicles in the game anyway
O-I Please at the main TT around 5.7Br as its main cannon is basically an HE slinger for sure.
To give it more value with the addition, Gaijin should rework a Japanese map like Iwo Jima. Allowing tank fights as it was historical. Maybe even Wake Island cuz why not, love to see more historical and iconic maps in game like BATTLEFIED 1943 game. Maybe someone can suggest to Gaijin to rework Iwo Jima.
The Type 96 15 cm howitzer could fire AP, HEAT and HE shells. So it’s not just a HE gun. HEAT shells had a penetration of about 180 mm, AP shells had about 100 mm of armor penetration.
The Ho-Ri “II” is the one that was most likely the real final Ho-Ri design that started conversion from the 5 Chi-Ri hulls. It’s not a tank “from World of Tanks”, it’s simply a historical design that happens to be in that game.
Meanwhile the variant in game was never built, with the “Production” being a completely dictional design made to match the top tier at the time which was late WWII heavy tanks.
Oh, I was under the impression that it only had HE rounds for its main cannon 👀 thanks! Though I can still see it at the same Br as the Tog or .3Br to .7br higher.
