Make ground simulator more like air simulator

The ground simulator mode is not much different from air simulator, and while it changes some things slightly, I think gaijin should make bigger maps comparably to air sim where there could be much more space in the map and allow for more interesting tactics. I say this because ground simulator is underpopulated and offers little difference in gameplay and rewards compared to simulator especially because queue times are up to 10 minutes when I play. I don’t want vehement disagreement on this topic and rather would want to receive constructive criticism. Also, please don’t say this isn’t possible because it doesn’t bring enough money to gaijin.

Id love for a “ground EC” gamemode. That would be fun.

But I think the biggest issue with GSB is the limited line-ups and you cant just play what BR you want to play.

Ground simulator battles is far my favorite gamemode behind Air simulator battles, is less chaotic than realistic and arcade, yet need some knowledge but it’s very rewarding. It needs huge improvements rather than only limiting the vision and sight parallax.

yes I agree with you my opinion is that instead of ground battles (tank battles) they should probably be renamed mixed battles because for me they are not ground tank battles but rather mixed. and hand on heart a lot of people want to cancel planes in tank battles (simulation, arcade) netikase battles daily rewards and realistic battles

There already are controls for and settings in place that would force ground vehicles in Sim modes to operate like aircraft. Forced manual transmission on vehicles that didn’t have automatic systems, turret rotation via at least mouse joy control, incremental acceleration and turning…

Honestly the worst problem with sim ground battles is the fact that the maps are too small and/or poorly set up for vehicle maneuvers. When the biggest player ground zones are at the widest 3.6km across, you can see and suppress someone well before they can do anything. Especially when a team lets themselves be boxed in around their spawns.

Most ground maps in ‘quickplay’ modes like the current player ground battles should be at least 10km wide minimum (excluding cities), with later era vehicles having much larger zones.

A Ground EC should take place on the full air map, with spawns tied to the small bomb bases and main airfields. Vehicle convoys can be defended/attacked by ground and air players, Air EC zone battles can take the caps from Battle mode and stick it on that grid. There doesn’t even need to be a texture revamp of the entire map, just some adjustments to the rendering of buildings, trees, and terrain contact.

Even worse you can’t use historical vehicles if you want to. You’re forced into using specific vehicles instead of historically accurate (of course lower than top BR) ones

I think its a premier that I see somebody who has the same opinion of Ground EC Sim Maps like me. Ive made a post last year about this and it got deleted from the mods bc they wont accept any breaking ideas of the future of this game.

It would be pretty fun to play on those huge maps. Especially they finally can bring that in on those maps that you can bring every vehicle type on those maps (ships, tanks, helis and planes)

It would be a huge impact on the world, when it would be released and war thunder would be the only game with a bright playerbase which supports such a gamemode. The only thing you have to do is increase players per team bc on such maps it must be at least 60 vs 60.

The main difference is that in the air sim mode you are penalized for active play, and in the ground sim you are rewarded for it.

The arbitrary and poorly balanced vehicle brackets often put me off playing ground sim. That and the completely dominant role of CAS.

There are many that feel the same way, they just don’t bother with the forums because of thread suppression.

Anyway, the Snail has massive potential here but fail to capitalize on it.
