Major Update "Spearhead" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Well duh. I’m not asking how ships attack submarines. I’m saying its not possible for the utopian idea of ASW you people have to work in War Thunder.

Right, destroyers and frigates going slow… in open view of cruisers and battleships…

Right… the slow moving helicopters… in full view of large caliber AA…

Right, yeah they’ll make their move. May I remind you that, with few exceptions, WW2 era submarines have an average underwater speed of about 8kts.

Submarines weren’t used as tactical weapons for a reason guys.

Although I suspect they won’t have finished reviewing it by the end of the dev server 😔

yeah they only went underwater to attack most of the time they were above water, I would start playing naval again if I could use subs. They would not be the most powerful or meta thing but still I feel many would love to just vibe underwater at deep depths, also would make gaijin model the sea bed more

They will look at it in two years.

@Smin1080p_WT on the Dev server the IRIS-T SLM gets nerfed (Missile IR seeker lock range gets reduced from 10km to 4km).
HOWEVER, can we get the real reason for that change? Because for some reason that nerf only applies to the SLM while this change would also have to nerf the IRIS-T SLS found on the EldE 98, reason: because its the same IR seeker.
So maybe its time to also nerf that?

Also, do we realy believe that an IRIS-T has an worse Seeker Lock range than an Aim-9B?

When will we finally get Grom-1s? They were removed then said they would be added back soon. Now we have plenty of long range ordnance so now there is a place for the Grom-1

likely never, they are to strong in ARB and SIM
Its not the range alone that factors in.
Talk about long time. Its 2 years now since we got promised a Leopard 2 DM rework lol.
That ones needed

They were removed for the same reason they wont add Storm Shadow and Taurus.

The ability to snipe bases cross map in Air modes.

Though they are adding KH-59s which is kinda BS

the Kh-59 has less explosive mass than a 250kg bomb
and you only get 4 of them

Just like with Taurus/Stormshadow)))

they have a bigger warhead afaik

do we have any proof EF is planned to carry 4?
Tornado carries only 2 as well right?

There is an Picture with 4 mounted on an Tonka somewhere in the Internet

storm shadow has 450kg warhead

hopefully with the deep strike mode the new base style will make them less powerful, tho I think the HP bar should be shown to show how much of the buildings still need to be destroyed, so a counter style thing would be better

Also makes no sense because of NCTR, the IIR lock range will vary from aircraft to aircraft based on the IR signature in the database of the missile, relegating IRIS-T to a forced 4 km range is beyond stupid. If the intent was to make it more reliable against munitions, then have a different lock range for it.

There are also other factors that will influence the lock range like distance and speed of the target, since the aerodynamic cap is ejected at the most optimal time based on those variables as well.

I do the same with the large glide bombs on the f15e. They actually werent that overpowered since the one day they were in the dev server people completely forgot there is almost no real players in your air match. So we actually dont know how overpowered or not they would be in a real match. Plus for the people that were complaining about that they would steal bases with them the fact about the grom 1 is it doesnt fly at mach

Are we talking about gaijin or some other dev here?

difference there, glide vs rocket powered.
SU 34 still has the GROM 2 as well

The grom 1 literaly bet any other bomber in final approach if you fired it right and stole bases from anyone else.
It in fact flew over mach 1, hell the grom 2 flies at mach 1 if used right

Like there literaly is no need to even add the Grom 1. None of the other added missles realy are similar or become equal

How’re we comparing these weapons, they’re not similar at all.
