Major Update "Spearhead" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

This Mechanic should be just some extra that can be used if you feel like it.
The newly introduced Radar controls are similiar to that in my opinion.
If you dont like it you can stay with the old one and if you like it you can use it, simple as.

Hey. There is a report under investigation regarding the Mi-28MN (and internally also the Ka-52) for their DIRCM coverage.

Once the devs have reviewed it fully and there is an outcome, a response will be shared in the report itself: Community Bug Reporting System

The Subs could also be introduced as some kind of objective for Sim.
Like find and destroy the Sub in D5 or your Convoy is under attack by enemy Subs, find and destroy them.

With that Subs are not particular interesting as a only Player Controlled Vehicle but as a AI unit aswell.

I enjoyed the sub gameplay so I would like them to playable

I didnt say they shouldnt be playable but rather that they can find use as new mission objectives or just as Ai Units roaming the sea to be destroyed in all Air modes like Ships.

Hey thank you for the quick reply, ive seen this but i wasnt talking about only the Mi-28MN. Although this is by far the most abused one from what i encounter in game, im also concerned by the ones from the other nations with both big range F&F missiles and DIRCM. Imo there just isnt an effective way to counter them from the ground. Ground based F&F missiles of most nations cannot track them when the heli’s play correct (stand still or move only slowly) and the SACLOS based options either dont have the range (most have 12km max range with the heli’s missiles being above that), or with the time it takes to reach them the heli’s have more than enough time to dip down without even doing any evasive maneuvers or having to deploy countermeasures (at 8km range, so a heli in range of tracking moving targets, the ito’s vt1 missile even if traveling at its maximum speed of 1250m/s the whole time would take 6,4s. This is more than enough for any heli to gently glide down behind cover).

@Smin1080p_WT There’s been alot of speculation regarding submarines however I won’t ask you on that directly. What I am going to ask however is, Do you have a favourite submarine? And what would you say is your favourite anti-submarine tactic/weapon?

A small request - make this devblog BEFORE the update is released. It will be too late then.
If you think that the players are wrong in their assessment of the course on terminal simplification, you will have the opportunity to prove in a substantive way that this is not the case if something from the development course is not in the players’ field of vision.
Or, just once again say that this is what the fleet needs without dialogue, and then everything will also become much simpler in its own way.

This is a very critical edit for the fleet. Feedback is absolutely essential here.

Not quite correct.
Taurus uses the IR sensor in the last stage to hit moving targets.
Its ability to hit moving targets ahould be better then AASM Hammer, who only takes snapshot to correct its path

It uses the IR seeker to hit stationary targets.

Don’t play dumb you used the most common swear word out there.

Can any of the mods explain it to him

so does the AASM Hammer but here here we are

Same describtion as used for the hammer , so its eligable for IR targeting

wtf is even a semi stationary target

mostly translates to targets that only moved a certain distance at the time of firing.

If it is constantly moving they shouldnt hit.
The Hammer as example only activates the IR seeker a few kilometers before impact and corrects its flightpath depending on like 2 snapshots of the target.
At long distance shots, and targets moving constant 50-70kmh it should never hit.

Thats why laser AASM Hammers exist for mobile targets

Hammer targeting process

Neither of them should be hitting moving targets.

My interpretation would be a target that can move from where you expect it to be, but which is not actively moving at the time the missile attacks. For example a ship which has moved to a different berth to the one you told the missile it would be moored at.

oh i am aware.

But until its removed from the Hammer, which we know gajin aint happening.
I am all for equal implementation, specialy since the Taurus actualy has better target tracking then the Hammer

well not quite true, the hammer targeting diagramm i posted, says it can hit minimal moving targets

@Smin1080p_WT may I ask if GBUs like the GBU-16 or Paveway IV as example who currently dont have an animation when they unfold its control wings, are they planned to get such animations as Glide bombs?

I really hope that we get some info on submarines. Those are my most wanted addition next to seaplane carriers/ aircraft carriers.

Hey by the way, why did they only add a 13.7 F-16 to Sweden? I bet Norway could offer a 13.0 one as well
And 11.0-13.7 is such a big gap
