Major Update "Spearhead" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Yep. 2+7 has the EFT and Rafale beat currently.

Gen 5 IIRs will shift that balance a bit, but god knows when that will happen (But please be sooner rather than later)

the issue is due to the low sale numbers pretty sure the rafale and F-35 are over all cheaper and and easier to maintain as their is a bigger supply of parts

Could you stop the whataboutism?

You: EFT was added because 3 nations didnt have a competitive fighter
Me: but italy and britain did.
You: but britain suffered so much in the past (totally not a different point and not relevant to your first point)

I dont wanna down play that britain lacked good fighters in the past but that simply wasnt the point for the eurofighter

Not exactly the Gripen uses a lot of already existing parts some of the most commonly replaced parts are fairly cheap like the engine as its the same found in the super hornet and such. The aircraft’s parts are already everywhere so its has them beat in sustainability

Its expensive to buy but cheap to maintain and repair

Though they really need to build and test the proposed Gripen E with the EJ230 engine. Which probably has a lot more thrust but possibly also TVC.

Guys, this discussion doesn’t have anything to do with the topic at hand. Please keep it on subject matter or use the many open EDT / Gripen topics. We seem to be going from Commonwealth to all over jet debates now.

Hey Smin, I was wondering if theres any possibility for SPYDER to receive any improvements as part of this upcoming update namely I-Derby ER considering its now 12.7 despite having comparatively poor range compared to the other 12.7 AA?

If it was planned gaijin could add it, give them the same paper treatment they did wish Russia

Hey.

Derby ER is not currently planned as part of this update. But there is an open suggestion on it.

Wasn’t the F-4F downtiered to 13.0 pretty quickly where it instantly became the best plane at it’s BR?

Once you’ve tasted opness there’s no coming back

Will we ever find out what the thought process of the devs was putting the spyder at the same BR as AAs that are 2-3x as good?

The decision to move the Spyder to 12.7 with this decompression just feels wild to me personally.

So you would be fine with the US not getting a top tier tank next year if all their tanks simply got downtiered? That’s another topic.

My argument was that britain and italy both had a top tier fighter while germany didnt. So saying that eft was added because all 3 lacked one is simply wrong. Doesnt change that some nations didnt have a competitive fighter in the past either because at the time they had one

Is this so hard to get?

When have I ever stated that Britain is going to receive content from every single commonwealth member state? I can tell you with certainty the answer to that is never. However, going on the only official communication until now being ‘Britain will receive more commonwealth vehicles’, there is nothing to say that doesn’t mean receiving content from any of the 56 member states without receiving content from all of the 56 member states. That isn’t particularly hard to understand.

The fact that the planned commonwealth additions are currently limited to the existing nations in the tree is completely new information to the community. Which is appreciated, but the point remains given that this is only the present consideration for potential additions.

lol, Gaijin really does hate the Israeli tree.
