Major Update "Spearhead" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Thats on saab, i also couldn’t care less about the Gripen irl, i love the F 35 too bad they borked it in game

are you forgetting the 4 years where their best jet was a tornado F3? it wasnt just germany

Ah… there we go.

Unfortunately it is, by your very second sentence.

Just because a huge list of vehicles hypothetically could come, does not mean it will. We have been very clear about that.

Gripen E is more like a Typhoon/Rafale equivalent.

If they add its ecm yes. The aircraft was designed with ECM as its main focus, adding it without those systems will gimp it and make it useless, so they should add the NG instead

it frequently competes with all 3 for contracts no?

So only the nations that had a military and have actual Military vehicles ?

no lmao maybe in terms of them getting delivered

if you mean a few updates. It is still a fact that italy and britain both had a competitive plane at top tier when the eurofighter got added

My second sentence?

The list of the vehicles operated by commonwealth nations includes more-or-less every mass produced
military vehicle ever built, meaning essentially any vehicle could be added to the tech tree depending on the whims of what gaijin are thinking for any particular update.

Note the word any, not every. Please take the time to actually read what I have said before trying to get snarky with your reply.

Right now the only commonwealth vehicles even factored are those from the nations already in the British tree that have been established or who themselves have a British vehicle modification.

Of course there may be the odd other example, but there are no plans to explode 53+ nations into the British tree as some would like to suggest.

Yes and no.

iirc. SAAB knew that building a direct competition would be pointless, so instead they marketed slightly differently. The Gripen is meant to be a lot cheaper to purchase and maintain, with maximum configurability.

So it does 2/3 of what the Typhoon and Rafale can do for a lot less.

Though it does have several good pieces of equipment as SAAB produces excellent defensive suites

ohno they had a gripen for half a year they defiantly didnt suck for years before that, look just accept it wasn’t just germany if we want to get into it while the UK was slugging at top tier with a phantom germany got a better mig 29 then russia twice it just didnt keep up later into the game

Your response was read in full. Please actually take the time to read the ones I have provided back to you:

You are working on a misunderstanding im afraid.

Longterm maintenance cost is far far cheaper than the other eurocanards and the F35. Also parts last far longer in general, additionally it holds a weirdly high amount of missiles for being a glorified F5 of modern jets

Yep. 2+7 has the EFT and Rafale beat currently.

Gen 5 IIRs will shift that balance a bit, but god knows when that will happen (But please be sooner rather than later)

the issue is due to the low sale numbers pretty sure the rafale and F-35 are over all cheaper and and easier to maintain as their is a bigger supply of parts

Could you stop the whataboutism?

You: EFT was added because 3 nations didnt have a competitive fighter
Me: but italy and britain did.
You: but britain suffered so much in the past (totally not a different point and not relevant to your first point)

I dont wanna down play that britain lacked good fighters in the past but that simply wasnt the point for the eurofighter

Not exactly the Gripen uses a lot of already existing parts some of the most commonly replaced parts are fairly cheap like the engine as its the same found in the super hornet and such. The aircraft’s parts are already everywhere so its has them beat in sustainability

Its expensive to buy but cheap to maintain and repair
