Major Update "Ninth Wave" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

YEah. I saw a lot more of missile interception though. Especially the GE and J-15T, just felt like they are brute forcing their way with missiles and never notches. A bit irritating for me but could strengthen it.

Well, it’s quite fun sometimes when an enemy thinks you’re evading after he fired a single missile at you closer than 10 km and stops paying attention to you. You just shoot his one missile down and you’re suddenly behind him with your silent IR missile. Lost count how many times that worked :D

I’ve had some good results with the GE, underrated jet imo, I can’t wait to test the Aim-120D’s when the patch drops.

Very strong point: the amount of flares and chaff, spam and never run out.

Easy to get high kill games

Its genuinely crazy to me that they somehow ended up choosing to add the J-15T over the J-16

i mean i’ve said it before

they’re probably waiting to add the Su-35, F-15EX and J-16 together

possibly Rafale C F4 too

AESA Typhoons are the exception because gaijin refuse to fix Captor-Ms issues

maybe an ACTUAL Gripen E too (one with the Gripen’s version of AMK (what its called on Typhoon), making it perform a good deal better), but that’d be mid asf, really, just a better turn, right now we have a glorified Gripen NG iirc

the gripen e flightmodel is already performing better than the gripen c flightmodel
the issue is that the gripen e is heavier

the flightmodel already has the extended flaps modeled the issue is only the 3d model

Spoiler

gripen e and gripen c with equalized weight

@Smin1080p_WT can you by chance nudge this report again?
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/QaZLcmWSrJTk
Or maybe say that the Dev finally got his hands on the report and is looking onto it?

Knowing the dev server has been extended until Thursday 12th March, when do we expect the update to drop (considering usual schedules and release days and stuff)?

What you’re expecting from 120Ds over C-5s?

If i’m going to guess it will drop on the 17th or 19th at the earliest due to Tuesdays and Thursdays being the most common days to have an update dropped

@Smin1080p_WT can you fix the MFD at cockpit of the F16I sufa in this major update?

Makes little to no sense to add the 35&16 together as the 35 would literally be better in almost every single aspect in WT.
at that point they’d be better off adding a J-11BG or J-11D since that would atleast be superior kinematically

Are you sure about that?

As far as I know J-16 is the most advanced Flanker in active service.

Iırc China realized Irbis Radar on their Su-35 was inferior to their AESA radar on their J-16, not to mention J-16 has similiar flight performance while having better EW Suite.

The only thing Su-35 will be better is dogfight performance due to having TVC engines I believe.

The thing is, esa radars are modeled terribly in warthunder, so aesa has basically nothing on pesa

Because Russia doesn’t use AESA for their most jets.

Gaijin knows AESA is superior to PESA and can even easily Jam it but they don’t want to model this features until Su-57 arrives, otherwise Russia would become helpless at top tier.

That’s why he said in WT, EW is irrelevant in WT, the SU35 has more missile pylons and better armaments and dogfight performance is more important than you think it is, as of rn the Su35 would be way better, once we see more advanced missiles the gap would close and with EW the J16 would take the edge, but the again you’d have to trust gaijin to model something properly and i think we all know where this’ll go.

If they model it it will become pretty revenant.

J-16 can also use double pylons just like we see it on J-15T, Gaijin already opened that box.

Thats funny.

Pl-15 is superior to R-77-1
Pl-10 is superior to R-74M
Pl-17 is on par with R-37M, maybe even better.

Its not because dogfights happens rarely on these days, not to mention J-16 uses much more composite material on its fuselage which results bein lighter than Su-35 while having similiar engine power.

China also operates Su-35 so if Gaijin doesnt model those features I mentioned China will still be fine.

Real life ≠ Warthunder

As with practically all information about the J-16 this is an empty claim as there is literally no information available

they didn’t yet, and I’m sure they’ll make Russian Jamming some magical fairy tool that’ll just be outright better than any other EW implementation.

it loses the outermost wing pylon (is limited to IR) afaik, unlike the su35 which can carry ARH/SARHs on there.

none of those are in game except for the R77-1 further proving my point

they do happen quite a lot towards the end of the game actually, with EW there’ll be way more aswell, at least that’s what i like to believe in.

will either be gimped or added 1-2 patches later
