Well yeah, the u.s. has a capability gap due to skipping 4+ gen and going straight to 5th gen. They’ve done well to improve the 4th gens to 4+gen avionics and weapons wise, but they’re still older designs being improved.

Like I said, tier for tier it’s really poor, if anyone’s really eager to play an AESA Viper they’re better off flying the F-2A if you have Japan or if anyone wants a hard pulling missile that actually fits the F-16’s style they can go fly the Israeli, plus far more pleasant matchmaker with those anyway

Idk how much the F15ex will change tbh compared to the f15ge. It’ll be faster but cannot dogfight just like the f15e. it could carry 4 more mid missiles. The only thing that might save u.s. top tier is aim9x or an aim120 fix.
