Yeah 120D currently pulls very similarly to the 120C, you’ll have trouble with under 10km shots especially when you are notching.

You are right, reading the patch notes you keep 120As, but you unlock them via the 120C modification.
- F-15C Golden Eagle — AIM-120D missiles and their corresponding modification have been added. The AIM-7M and AIM-120A modifications have been removed. Silver Lions and Golden Eagles spent on purchasing the removed modifications will be refunded. The AIM-7M and AIM-120A missiles have been removed from the presets and are now unlocked with the AIM-120C modification. The AIM-9M modification has been moved to modification research tier I, and the AIM-120C modification has been moved to research tier II.“”

i might be wrong but the type 10 feels the same for me
will say though, kinda kills any interest in the block 52 if the two airframes that also get 120d’s identical radar and relatively equal flight performance get two times the missiles
Its just the modifications. You can still choose them with the AIM-120C mod.
