Major Update "Ninth Wave" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

thats fair, but im saying the disadvantages of the f15ge are much worse than those of the sm2

r77-1 is arguably the best fox3 though?

you dont get 50g missiles that you can fire while flying away from your enemy

Nah, MICA is better

it honestly probably is, it has the range of the 120c for non maneuvering targets and its the 2nd best pulling msl for short range

So for Hungary so far it’s,

Héja I (Confirmed)
Héja II (Confirmed)
WM-23 (Confirmed)
Bf 109 E (Unconfirmed but shown via teaser)

mica lacks range

the r77-1 is a jack of all trades, the mica is good at 1 thing

i said arguably best, mica and r77-1 are really close

As far as I’ve been able to see, MICA is an extraordinary WVR <11km missile, but a terrible BVR >13km one.

Excellent dogfight missile, mediocre Fox-3.

Fair point

It’s also why I listed the point as “not the best” and not as “bad” lol

So yeah, just re-watched the teaser (been at work all evening)

No sign of ARM.
No sign of DDGs
No sign of MMW

Kinda a shame, i guess we’ll have to wait and see whats in the dev stream tomorrow

From looking at the engine model on the F-16 in the teaser it definitely is a Block 52.

Its the same as the engine of the F-16I Sufa which is the F100-PW-229.

Compared to the F110-GE-129 on the F-16C Block 50 we have in-game.

I’m just confused as to why Gaijin have decided on using the worse version of an aircraft that’s already going to be bleak.

so yea instead of being cooked, we’re cooked

poop vs pee

Which means it’s definitely a worse airframe than the current F16C.

Legion pod can be equipped at the same time as HTS

AFAIK Block 50/52’s port side pylon only supports HTS, not a TGP or something like Legion. So it is an either/or situation when it comes to IRST and TGP on PoBIT and other upgraded airframes

Lockheed states that new production planes (those built at the factory as Block 70) support Legion-ES on the port side in place of HTS. But PoBITs are not new production planes.

Oh… as it’s a 2026 plane meant to breathe life into the airframe until 2040, I would have expected it to be… at least 14.7 material, but it appears it won’t be xD

Yep, unless they end up doing the same as the J-10C and modelling the better engine after it’s added then we’re getting worse performance for better radar and missiles.

its grasping at 14.0
