Major Update "Ninth Wave" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

for any lurking tech mods

Seems like my intuition was right, they added ray reconstruction and some fps limiter settings.
I wonder if there is any performance optimisation made for ray tracing though.
From what I tested there is still some performance issues with it on dev server.

Another quite significant AS90 report to add if you dont mind

I misread, and thought you were replying to a different post of mine. These low-detail modern ground targets are part of World War Mode ( WWM ), for use in the suppression of enemy air defences and strategic target bombing gamemodes.

In the Case anyone wonders what is currently reported for the new German Boxer

maybe a Mod has time and doesnt know what else to do :P

I wanted to report that, but i didn’t trust the source alone, as I’ve seen 42/43/45 tons stated elsewhere, all with about the same credibility. wanted to see if i could find a proper source for it

my current belief is that it would be 43 ton for in game, but there’s a lot of conflicting numbers so i haven’t reported it

will add it anyway tho

It’s an official brochure by VSEL so it should be perfectly credible by gaijins standards

I’m yet to see any other weight values, the only place I can find 45 tonnes is from Military Today which is just a magazine

Ill bring it out of the Spoiler for this

your source here states 45 ton (also 36? but i assume thats braveheart due to the max range?)

and these for flavour

45 ton does seem to be the most stated number unfortunately

Forecast international isn’t a primary source I was just using it as an example there as I couldnt find anything else lol

Where is the second image from?

this one

Scratch what i previously wrote, its this!

this is the full page

I would argue that that source may be talking about the Braveheart, it lists the gun caliber as 39 OR 52, which would include the Braveheart and take into account the weight of the larger gun and other changes.

image

The source I used only states the 39 caliber gun, so it excludes the Braveheart and must be the weight of the variant ingame which has the 39 caliber gun.

I’m also not sure if Gunner counts as a primary source, is that from the British Army or Vickers themselves?

Not sure, i think in MOD it was said it was Primary, but I could be misremembering

Regardless this is a primary source, (from the army themselves, just web archived)

If i’m to continue discussing this it’d have to be tomorrow at some point, I’ve got to get some other stuff done that I’ve already put off a bit too long

(would also probably be worth taking this to a different thread like British Weapon Systems - Technical data and discussion - #5669 by Kobes-Kamov for that)

No worries, there seems to be some conflicting information I guess, we will see what gaijin thinks

as always

we can only hope for it to be reduced, but i personally highly doubt it will be

That source does state the top speed at 32mph which also contradicts our other primary sources from Vickers, I personally would take the direct manufacturers technical data instead, anyway you’re right we should move this to the dedicated thread when you’re free

Seekerdelay is correct.
But fin aoa, who knows (probably underperforming but it’s pure speculation)

Based on what I’ve heard, kinda.
The current seeker delay is only described for ejector launched AMRAAMs.
Anyways, here’s a post from yourself that has the source they seem to have used.

yeah, courtesy of flame himself though, it also mentions this

would this also apply to ejector only launches? idk

anything interesting happen today?

and if what we got was the F16CM modernised how likely is it we will ever even get the POBIT itself at this point?

I’m seriously tired of the direction War Thunder is going.

First you added the Sukhoi Su-30SM2 without giving other nations a proper equivalent counterpart. That alone already tilted top-tier air battles. Then you followed it up with the Pantsir — again, with nothing comparable available in other tech trees. How is this supposed to be balanced?

It feels like every major update hands Russia another top-tier system that outperforms everything else, while other nations are left waiting for something that can even compete. This isn’t asymmetrical design — it’s just stacking advantages on one side.

Players grind for months or spend real money to reach top tier, only to be constantly outclassed by vehicles that have no equal elsewhere. That doesn’t create competition. It creates frustration and pushes people away.

At this point, whether intentional or not, it looks like blatant favoritism. If you’re going to introduce cutting-edge systems like the Su-30SM2 and Pantsir, then introduce proper counterparts at the same time. Stop releasing one-s
