Enlisted got its first jets earlier this year I believe. They can expand that game to include modern infantry, just like they expanded WT to include modern vehicles.
They don’t need to shoehorn infantry into WT to offer modern infantry in a game of theirs

They didn’t.
They published it, but all the development is from another company: Darkflow Software.

I think infantry shouldn’t be playable in War Thunder, it should be AI driven as a way to generate small amounts of additional points when vehicles ‘kill’ them and cause some damage to players so players have something additional to be cautious about.
Imagine an AI ATGM team hiding in a building and they shoot an RPG at you knocking your engine out while you’re fighting in CQB against other vehicles or infantry peppering your vehicle to distract you. That’s what it should be about.
Doing it this way could be a way to add other types of vehicles like a Willy Jeep with an M2HB or Mortar vehicle which focuses on killing infantry to support the team. Idk.
Enlisted should be the playable infantry from WWII to modern.

They should first give every nation a SAM equipped destroyer, such as County and Impavido classes.
As the Parchim class made a comeback after 3-ish years, Gaijin might make Strela launchers on some boats active next time
