For your information the J-16 is derived from the MKK series. And while it is indeed more unique, it’s also the most modern 4.5th gen fighter that China can offer, so I’d say it’s best to keep it for later.
There’s plenty others options before that
These weapon pods are also being tested on F-22 afaik so even if Block 3 Super Hornet wont use them in service F-22 surely will.

had mk2 wouldve shown at the same time as the mkk i wouldnt have been nearly as up in arms, the problem is that there are no signs of it appearing this patch which leaves the prem mkk as most capable cas jet for china

Yup MK2 should come this patch, but hopefully it will. And if you want an AESA sinoflanker, maybe a J-11BG will do? Adding the J-16 now would be like… well like adding the Rafale F3-R before the F1/F2, which was a disaster.

Yeah I’m not entirely sure. It just seems to have been mentioned in plans for the Block III but then never spoken about again, neither confirmed nor denied.

Exactly. After smth for germany comes to the ground tree, I’ll research the last mod for IRIS ( for 20k exp) and continue to do almost nothing in battle, because IRIS is not only nerfed, it couldn’t intercept bombs and rockets normally since it was added to the game.
