Major Update "Line of Contact" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 2)

Alright since we have a pretty good idea that the winter event will be the MiG-25 for the high tier air reward, an H75M for the low tier air reward, and Tosa for the naval reward. I wonder what the ground reward will be, I hope it’s something neat and not another bushmaster 30mm mobile.

You will grind for your autocannon slop…
…and you will like it!

Let me have a little bit of hope at least…

I don’t have any hope left

The announcement of an infantry mode erased all the optimism I had left for War Thunder

when major balance update? (psss, specially air battles)

nah french players are just clearly better than everyone else, its not that the rafale is the best plane in the game

clearly we must leave WW2 BRs like they are so they bleed out and we buy more premiums
(will come with the release of a premium rafale)

exactly

we should add more early jets and trainers to even lower BRs

I mean if taking Romania from Italy, you can move Hungary to Visegrad as well, since Hungary without Romania doesn’t really work as a subtree for Italian tech tree.

there’s a non-zero chance of being one of the 4 “Scimitar”* variants in the files

*One is technically a Scorpion with a fox turret but that here nor there

good chance its a 30mm, but not a bushmaster.

As fitting as it would be for Gaijin to give Britain yet another useless RARDEN vehicle, I doubt that any of those CVR(T)s would be high enough in BR to be winter event reward material

eh I guess, they usually do higher tier stuff though

from the information ive found im not sure whether to call that turret a fox turret or not because it is slightly different. I may just be nitpicking a slight revision slightly too much

The Fox turrets were later used on FV432s to make the 432/30 (you can actually drive most of the 432/30 fleet at Armourgeddon where they have been converted into paintball tanks) while the sabres turrets were built specifically for the vehicle with a couple visual changes.

the sabre has new stowage bins on the turret and a new shroud around the coaxial machine gun which isnt present even on a scimitar or scorpion. it may only be a planned revision but cant find similar on a fox or any other CVR turret

Depends if gaijin goes for the modified RM 30mm APFSDS round that was kinda in the works for RARDEN, would bonk the LEP or Scimi 2 up into the 9.X region, high enough for it if gaijin wants to do that.

Thermals, APFSDS, pretty nippy mobility, not too big, LRF. Could work out.

A fun tank chats blurb on the sabre too.

ngl the 30x173 APFSDS still couldnt bump a scimitar above 8.3.

The main ground reward vehicles of the last four years all were above 10.3, the lowest being the Vilkas at 10.7

Similarly the main reward planes of the last four years all were above 10.7, the lowest being the MiG-23MF at 11.0

Eh I can see a 9.0 Scimitar with it and the other changes.

It wouldnt just be the round, remember improved drive train to 235hp for more mobility (if its the 2011 LEP), LRF, thermals gen 2, adds up.

And ofc the rarden rat tax of trying not to make another OP rarden tank xD

Skill issue lmao

Everything I have ever read says they’re recycled Fox turrets with minor modifications to bring them to the same standards as Scimitar, e.g. new domed turret hatches, modernised driver’s controls, additional crew stowage, etc. The whole point was to replace the Foxes which kept rolling over.

That’s cause they replaced the Co-axial mg with a L94 chain gun, as seen on Warrior and the Challengers. Why not the whole fleet I don’t know.
