honestly the whole F/A-18 Family was kinda late but probably because it would’ve been quite sad to have an F/A-18 instead of an F-16 fight against MiG-29s in the Last Meta before ARH

Honestly I think the 18C(late) (with only AIM-120A/B) and current Su-27SM (so with all the changes it got, not the release version) would have made fine counterparts.
Than they could have released the F-15C GE with MRML together with the Su-30SM.
Only problem with this is you need to find a way to fit in the F-15C MSIP in a patch in between with appropriate counterparts.
Btw, about F-18s shouldn’t they be able to identify air targets on the hood? from cockpit view I mean, asking for Sim Battles
Wym? like will the target show up in the marked in the hud ?
I think that info only comes up on MFDs
Like on Su-30SM, it shows on the ILS that for example you have an lock on F-15.
On the F-18 I don’t see what am I locking on

Yeah only eurofighter and su30sm/sm2 have that in the cockpit.
because the F/A-18A/C radar doesn’t know what it’s looking at

Well it sorta does, It does have NCTR its just very limited. like you can tell a large airliner from a fighter.
Then why it can identify targets in RB from the third view I mean
If you mean like how the A-10C, Eurofighter, and Rafale show teammates then yes it should. JHMCS and Targo HMD’s should also have it.
