Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Mockup.

Wrong thread also

I mean there isn’t a new RRD yet for next patch so it makes sense to post it here.

yeah it basically is

I doubt Nelson, I would love for it to be a KGV only issue is I can see them being a pretty high BR, sure 14inch shells but with a rather fast reload and good armour layout could push them up decently high

Its probably going to be an R-Class at this point.

Unless you can find evidence of B-65 being anything more than a pipedream there are literally no other options.
Better than an event vehicle in any case.

Maybe Tosa, but yeah, nothing else

LPI only work on old tech. Try to use and every 5gen will launch a missile at you.

" This technique is much less useful against a radar with a frequency-agile (solid state) transmitter. Agile radars like AESA (or PESA) can change their frequency with every pulse (except when using doppler filtering), and generally do so using a random sequence, integrating over time does not help pull the signal out of the background noise. Moreover, a radar may be designed to extend the duration of the pulse and lower its peak power. An AESA or modern PESA will often have the capability to alter these parameters during operation. This makes no difference to the total energy reflected by the target but makes the detection of the pulse by an RWR system less likely.[1] Nor does the AESA have any sort of fixed pulse repetition frequency, which can also be varied and thus hide any periodic brightening across the entire spectrum. Older generation RWRs are essentially useless against AESA radars, which is why AESAs are also known as “low probability of intercept radars”. Modern RWRs must be made highly sensitive (small angles and bandwidths for individual antennas, low transmission loss and noise)[1] and add successive pulses through time-frequency processing to achieve useful detection rates"

Also gaijin hasn’t add IRST capability to launch Radar Missile. That would be the best option to turn off radar and go sneaky with IRST.

We need an IRST overhaul ASAP.

Others have chimed in but, personally? Because there’s a looooot of games that cover older stuff because it’s declassified and easier to find information on.

Plus a lot of us grew up on WW2 games and such that it’s just an era that’s boring. Cold War upto Modern era isn’t exactly new either but when it comes to the detail WT gives with vehicles, it really is. One of the reasons I left WoT to come to WT was because it went past the arbitrary cold war era cap.

Top tier is also hella fun as it rewards game knowledge and is extremely punishing (which just makes it more fun). There’s a dopamine rush just getting to evade an ARH via notching/chaff or an IRCCM IR missile with proper flaring (and in some cases cranking away) that you just don’t get at lower tiers.

For some of us working folk, it’s easy to just drop a bunch of GE to trade money for time saved in grinding so we can just go straight to enjoying the gameplay. Some people like grinding, of course and there’s nothing wrong with that. I, personally, enjoy the gameplay and like playing for the sake of it so GE it is.

You can launch radar missiles through irst, even if the radar doesnt get a lock on. just lock in irst, switch to radar. even if it stays in irst it will still launch

Tosa would be better than Nagato. Higher chance to win the lottery tbh.

Yeah, very true.
Also, I agree with preferring Nagato to be a premium (better to have it in tree, but whatever) over it being an event ship. Too iconic

Not quite the same.

If you manually target in IRST you cannot fire. If you swap to radar. you defeat the point of being in IRST to avoid the RWR alert and I dont think it provides DL updates if you swap back (but dont quote me on that)

It only allows IRST to fire an ARH if it was in radar and auto-swtiched to maintain the lock (which I dont think ive ever seen it actually do, but I know it can and does)

You should be able to fully lock and guide a ARH from within certain IRST systems. Typhoon’s Pirate for example should have a full 200 target TWS mode and the ability to guide AMRAAMs using IRST.

That its mostly away to make it work. But its not how it should work. Gaijin has said that they didn’t have intention to add that (maybe they’ll change their mind in the future). I think that its why some people was upset that gaijin buffed the lock range IRST on Rafale and Eurofighter(?). While they didn’t touch the IRST on Su-30sm. While yea its not as good as the one on Rafale/Eurofighter. It still should have it range increase compare to old su-27 IRST.

Considering they made Strasbourg an event ship, I do now think they were planning on making Nagato an event ship until they added a new rank. Now I wouldn’t be surprised to see a second Amagi as an event ship because their plans were ruined… by themselves… because they very obviously don’t plan beyond one patch.

So I’m betting patch soon because the summer sale starts very soon and I fully expect the patch to happen before it.

Sometime this week most likely, either on Tuesday or Thursday

I hope Tuesday rather than the Thursday.

Yeah, that makes sense
