In a headon, they wont help much, that is kinda the point of ASRAAMs design philopshy.
But they havent even buffed BOL to help against the IIR SAMs being added.

If the argument that the F-15E, a 14.0 aircraft, needs BOL. because its a “bomber” and struggles against fighters. Then the Tornado Gr4 needs more than just BOL.

I get the CMs amount worries, but J-15T is probly lighter than J-16 (and definetily lighter than Su-33 thanks to composite materials), while also having Canards and good engines.

then F-15E is a 13.0 aircraft at 14.0 lol. and the tornado does get more than just bol, it gets the 1200 large chaff pods and 9M on a supersonic jet at 12.3
if I remember right the point of the ASRAAM is like that of the R27ER where the goal is to not only be able to launch before other planes can but also even if you are late to the launch that its so much faster it will reach the enemy before their AAM hits you.

I’m not a developer and I’m not particularly bothered about BOL underperforming. I think it should perform however is realistic, but there are probably bigger fish to fry.
Yep, exactly that. The idea being that no one will survive equal range launches. So kill the target before it can launch

It is 100% identical to 11.3 airframes, just has extra CMs and Aim-9Ms.
But is still much weaker than the F-18s and F-16s at the same BR.

No, I just adamantly believe they will make the F-22A incredible at dogfighting, even without TVC. It would appear to check all the boxes.
Also Eurofighter is so insanely good in a dogfight that there has to be a serious skill disparity for any other plane to beat it, but I haven’t checked F-2A on account of it not being on the live server yet.
There’s just a really rigid heirarchy of planes in top tier duels and F-22 looks to come along and dethrone the king.
