Yeah, even if not well known or relevant globally, the C-36 of coure is very iconic for Switzerland, and is - among the few combat aircraft Switzerland designed and used - certainly the most important one.
I’d actually would have loved to see them make the most numerous variant C-3603 (which I find also looks better), but am very happy and excited about the C-3604, of course!
During WW2 my granddad worked a lot on the C-36’s and always talked about them in admiration, so the type of course is especially dear to me…
I was wondering if you knew, if the dev’s had any plans to give Spyder an all black GE camouflage (as was done with Black Night), as like BN, that’s the only scheme we’ve seen it in IRL :
No not really. This is quite a bit worse because of what it represents. Here we were, finally getting equal or competitive SPAAs to go against the two years the Pantsir was allowed to dominate. Only to get the rug pulled from under us.
I get the new AA’s aren’t in the state many had hoped (and frankly what was needed of them), but i still think it’s a better update overall than Hornets Sting.
The only real notable things in the last one were Hornet and Su30, the former of which was arguably added very belatedly, and the latter of which just exacerbated a pre-existing balance crisis in ground battles.
This update offers a lot more to be excited about - for a lot more countries than the last.
Anyone got any idea if Gaijin plans on adding IOG + DL or LOAL to the IR Type 81 C? The missile can’t utilize it’s max range in the state it is now, needing a full IR lock to launch despite being slaved to the radar.
This is an understatement. I can’t speak about the changed SLM as I haven’t seen the missile performance in action yet, but the Derby-SR and 120C-7 (previously C-5) seemed incredibly easy to counter for cas. These 2 and old SLM are (or were in the case of SLM) honestly just sad.
Only reason the Spyder will do well is because no matter how sad it is, it will still be an upgrade over the Chaparral.
