Last I remember, the ASM-2 was unfinished in that it was still guided by radar instead of IR, however it was usable against ground targets like tanks and pretty accurate too. However, I doubt that capability will remain unless Gaijin gives it on live
However, yes, I don’t think the F-2 is gimped in anyway. It’s a competent multi-role fighter and pretty much beats out all planes in dogfights except the eurocanards and even then only if those pilots are good enough to squeeze out more performance

What is needed is greater value for GBUs in ARB/ASB.
Outside of niche targets like naval targets in ASB or unless you have a large number of GPS guided GBUs for dealing with the battlefields, you are just usually better off running unguided bombs.
So perhaps adding “weakspots” to bases or a greater set of PvE objectives in ASB that require or at the very least, are much easier to deal with with GBUs, like SAM sites or HVT where you have to avoid colleteral damage Is the answer.
Even outside of aircraft like the F-117. there isnt much value to ever taking GBUs over unguided bombs on something like the Tornado or Jaguar in ARB/ASB

Though a big chunk of that is how gaijin models heat sigs and the IR SAMs at that BR. F-117 is hotter than an F-5 on reheat
I dont play much GRB
But both have 2x GBUs, but the Jag has 60 flares, 216 large chaff, an RWR, 2x Aim-9Gs and is supersonic with a half decent Tpod for that BR. It even has a spare weapon mount for an extra unguided bomb or a rocket pod
So when compared to other CAS, its pretty clear why its not played a huge amount

I’ve not actually seen one to test it, but based upon the fact its hotter than an F-5. I doubt the IRST in the Stormer HVM would struggle to lock onto it

I find it a bit odd there’s a secert Russian Day sale (secert as in not advertised because hey, obvious reasons) but there is no US sale despite being the 14th being the 250th birthday of the US Army. The Clickbait, KVT, RDF-LT , and XM-1 could have gotten a bundle sale. Not really beating the bias claim.

The IR reduction stuff doesnt work to the degree it should and the US mains complain about it enough on the forums that neither the RCS reduction or IR reduction dont work properly.
Its been tested and shown that the F-117 is (or at least was) hotter than an F-5 on reheat.
After that its just common sense.
Only 2x GBUs. No Guns or missiles for self defence, so vulnerable to any CAS or CAP in the air. No RWR or CMs so cant do anything if an SPAA or CAS/CAP get a lock. Not even supersonic. I doubt Id struggle to deal with one in the Stormer HVM unless it was physically out of range and that is nothing unique to the F-117 and I have seen them once or twice in GSB and I dont recall them being immune to the 2S6s or OSAs that redfor have.
Overall its a very niche aircraft that seems pretty pointless to take into GRB in its current state

I only said that it’s a good aircraft, which I confirmed with my statistics. Yes, I only have 100 battles, but with very good results for an aircraft with only two bombs.
I don’t understand what you’re arguing about. You don’t like it, you don’t have it, you don’t play GRB, so why is it so important for you to prove that it’s bad?
He doesn’t have it, but that doesn’t stop me from having only 20 deaths per 100 battles. I think he’s pretty much invisible xdd
You said you were suprrised by why people dont play it much. I was stating why. Its really niche aircraft that has a ton of limitations and is underperforming loads. Compared to other CAS aircraft at the same BR range like the Jag or A-10 its pretty vulnerable.
Id still account this more to either people being bad at countering CAS or the fact that SPAA/CAP tends to be reactive, so you might get 2x Bombs off before someone spawns in something to deal with you. The fact you have died 20 times tells me its not immortal and that is the point I was making. The IR signature is still WAY too hot and the RCS reduction isnt as great as people expect it to be and thus the 2 stack up to make an aircraft without CMs and RWR quite vulnerable.
IR signature overhaul would help a lot as it is hotter than an F-5 on reheat and really shouldnt be and further improvements to RCS modeling wouldnt hurt either. Fixing that would help turn it from a niche, meme aircraft, to one people may actually take more often to GRB.
I hope in the.next update they finally do something about the sorry state of USN boat camo, and maybe the USA tanks like M47 M60 and M103 that look like total garbage 🙄
