He isn’t asking for the trees to be independent, the folders allow subtrees to be moved to a respective folder. This would free space up for the host while giving far more space for the subtrees to add unique vehicles. All subtrees would still be de facto under the host.
One example of how this would be beneficial is by putting South Africa separately, the UK has more room for light vehicles while South Africa can have more room for it’s aircraft and SARC variants. India would also have free space for it’s higher tier aircraft as it no longer has the UK aircraft to contend for space with.
You didn’t understand the suggestion did you?
If you really read it, it’s purely just a reorganisation of subtrees where the content is moved to another page and the grind is a bit different, but the result is very close to what we currently have
With the main difference being, a nation doesn’t take room from another in a given folder
come to think of it. if theyre going to give the f15e the 120c, why not give the 27sm and 29smt the r77-1. neither of these two used the base r77 to begin with
No, no, no, the HQ17 missile has a better storage capacity than the FB10a now, because the FB10 missile body is too light, and the actual effective range is only 6-8km
But after 10km, the missile has no energy, and now the test suit cannot launch FB10A, and when I go to the LSSUES area, I also say that I have not joined FB10A
Subtrees are a good concept, but they also have significant drawbacks for all involved nations the way they’re currently done. The idea is to fix those, not to take away the ability for nations to support eachother completely.
I’d also say this will help future new factions, which in many cases will include more nations. Take for example the leaked plans for a “Polish tree with eastern european subtree”, which would also include more nations by design.
But rather than tacking the other nations onto a Polish tree, with some limited to premium only once space runs low, I’d prefer all to have all of them get proper space in their own research tabs.
This would also allow, for example, Czech players to decide to play their nation, rather than being stuck playing poland to get a handful of the vehicles they really want.
I’m generally rather open with that. I’ve argued for and against various subtrees before and worked on subtree suggestions. So when I “don’t want X-Nation to have Y-Nation over Z-Reason”, you’ll know.
This has nothing to do with specific nations. It’s a system that helps all nation find better representation in game, subtree or not.
In case you took this as a hit against the Swiss subtree, not at all. Instead this can help bring more Swiss vehicle into a researchable form, that can be used with your German lineups, while also freeing up more space for German content.
Think of it as a way to expand the tree with more space per nation, since that is one of the main ideas behind it.
Do you know if there is any chance that we could see an article/statement from the devs about the new top tier spaa not being able to counter the truely problematic cas aircraft at top tier (on the dev)?
