Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Hey Smin, any info regarding the sniper pod that could be seen on F-2 already? Will this pod appear on other platforms (e.g F-16, F-15E)?

Yeah but if you accept a report as the source a are valid, and then you leave It be without implementing the change after 2 to 3 years it’s kinda like forgetting about it’s ecxistance, it’s like It never was a report.

Big question…

Any new barges for naval?
/hj

Do you know if Aim-120C5’s current performance is reportable or if the devs have made the decision to model it ahistoricaly on balance/gameplay grounds?

At the moment, its hardly worth being added

So… it’s because they’re both fast? Yeah… battleships got faster. I don’t think that really think that’s enough to warrant moving her behind Hood unless they were both designed for the same purpose or Vanguard somehow evolved from Hood. Vanguard was designed to be in the battle line while Hood wasn’t, right? So would it not make more sense for her to follow Warspite or Rodney?

Either way, Gaijin has made it very clear that they could not care less where ships do and do not belong. Quite frankly I’m a little surprised Iowa isn’t behind Alaska, after all;

No. Fast-Battleship was litereally a different class of ship for Britain.

Vanguard probably did largely evovle from the Admiral-Class with lessons learnt from the KGV Class

No?

If anything Vanguard was very much designed for very very different combat than the Dreadnoughts like the QE-Class.

We’ve gotten ships moved before. I dont see why this would be any different.

That’s interesting. The American (and Japanese) fast battleships were designed specifically to fight the same kind of line battles, just faster. What was the Royal Navy’s plans then? Did they expect the small skirmishes that they actually ended up with?

Im not sure on specifics. Riley is far more read up on this than I am, But I think the need for ships to be deployed all over the place, rather than single giant fleet like Jutland was far more valuable. A ship that can get from place to place quickly was considered very valuable.

Remember, Vanguard didnt enter service until the end of the war, she wasn’t designed during the early interwar period like Hood/Rodney or even ww1 like the QE-Class was. The threat she was designed in mind to find was ships like Bismark or defend convoys from air attack.

i have SMS Baden, what battle rate planes are in that battle rate?

once i played SMS Baden and there was no plane

Are you asking what aircraft would be good to use alongside SMS Baden?

no i mean what planes are allowed, some examples

You can now bring up to 8.3 aircraft (and I think on the dev stream they said 8.7)

So that would mean you could bring stuff like the Me-262, AR234, IL-28 and the He-177 A-5 is a notable aircraft here as it has the Fritz-X

I see. That makes sense. With the German and Italian navies barely existing there’s not much of a need for a true ship of the line. Then yeah it would make more sense for her to be after Hood, you’re right.

HMS Lion or HMS King George V would be the more sensible ships to place after Warspite and Rodney.

Though I do wonder where they plan to stick a Revenge-Class. Though she was a direct successor to the QE-Class, so maybe that should go after Warspite.

Hehe yeah. Though it might be time for aircraft to fully use split BRs for Naval

I was hoping to use the Buc S1 and Sea Vixen in NRB

Maximum br cap is .3 higher than the max br ship in the lineup

Which would be 9.0.

But it was 8.3 on the dev server and I think they said 8.7 on the dev strream

I really hope it isn’t 9.0. Imagine getting bombed by a supersonic jet in your first battle in one of the new ships.

yamato facing nighthawk would be so funny and historically accurate
