Major Update "Leviathans" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Yeah Bismarck would do well to have her draft be low as it should be, good accuracy (still behind the British 15" and 14" but probably the runner up to those), as well as good RoF and loading angles, and very good gun handling.

She will for all intents and purposes, hopefully be a repeat of the playstyle of Scharnhorst, but with more reasonable (still good) armour.

Will AIM-120C be added to Typhoons?

I wonder if she will pop like Scharn does. I have only faced an Iowa so far on the dev server

Currently its for the F/A-18C Late, F-15E and F-15I RA’AM. Though as always, thats subject to change.

Likely will be just as vulnerable as Scharn to barbette shots, but barbettes are stronger

Though I find that the unreliable way to kill them, too much RNG. instead I wonder about fire propergation down the ammo lifts

Bismarcks turtleback is not curved but flat, so it should have less resistance, scharnhorst turtleback is closer to parallel than bismarck and therefore the critical angle, bismarcks is thicker but not as angled. You may remember me moaning earlier than the pen calculator checks if a shell ricochets, before it checks if it has enough residual pen to go through.

Well now you are more likely not to ricochet, and therefore pen becomes an actual factor now.

Yep! That way, Germany’s signature quirck would be flexibility and handling.

Japan’s would be high power firepower and U.S would be… I don’t know, Iowa seems actually like a decent all-rounder!

U.K, survivability and decent firepower.
Italy, extremely good armor and firepower on a low BR in exchange for impractically slow reloads.
France, obvious.

Ah nice. Yeah fingers crossed those shots will be reliable then

It was never going to get AIM-120Bs though.

Reliable I still don’t think so, but doable much more than scharn where you literally need a miracle to pen to the magazines.

This is kind of a shame for Bismarck, hahah. To think that, in terms of protection and survivability, it’s actually a DOWNgrade to the current top dog, Scharnhorst, which it’s succeeding, sitting a full BR higher.

The firepower is a HUGE improvement, though!

Well the TB is thicker, I just haven’t had a chance to test her to see if the thickness compensates for the lower angle. I doubt it will but thats an assumption.

Also, Scharns magazines are not pennable. Even by a railgun at the speed of light with a superheavy projectile. The question is how much of a downgrade is bismarck :p

Yeah, fingers crossed. By the sounds of it, the only one to fear is the Kronstadt 2.0 I mean, the Soyuz. None of the other top tier ships sounds all that scary even in Rodney or Hood, let alone Vanguard

Bismarck’s armor is not yet modelled, every plate is 40mm thick or less, so we can’t test the effectiveness yet, hahah.

But the angle is something I was also wondering about. It’s so low and gentle that it feels like it will be much worse :(

This makes sense. Anything on the A and C?

Hopefully they will adjust Yamatos magazine and shell room size and location they are currently not really correct especially that they sit way to high up. Yamato should have weak spots but it shouldn’t be the ticking time bomb it currently is.

edit lol new data mine says they reorganized the ammo so thats interesting and from the looks of it some other survivability buffs

General Dynamics (ik its the Canadian side of the company but still) and it uses the american 25mm. And while it is mostly Canadian the Americans also helped design it a little amongst other things
