I mean, it has the potential to be on an equal footing to SLM with I-Derby ER (40km range), But they could also limit it to I-Derby SR (20km).

We don’t even know if it’s getting Python 4 or 5 yet. We don’t even know if they intend to let it use both launch racks (4x2) or if they’re just going to limit to 4x1. In hangar, both racks are utilized, but in test drive, only one is.

If it gets Python 5, Derby ER, and can use both quad racks, then yeah, it’s going to be a monster.

12.0 SPAA with no AHEAD, only 500 rounds for an autocannon that fires at 3000 rounds per minute, IR only and 17km of theoretical range for the FB-10A, which means it’ll still get clapped by most A2G munitions.

KH-29 launch speed nerf (intentional or not, it’s still funny) so you can’t even fire them past mach 1, meanwhile KH-38 gets buffed lol. One of the worst nations for CAS eats a nerf while one of the strongest gets even stronger.

no J-10B, no PL-12 buff or the introduction of PL-12A (even though we have F-15E with AIM-120C-5 now)

China is still one of the few nations without an actual 14.0 fighter, now it has to face a rocketship with a missile far superior to the AIM-120A/AIM-120B.

Someone at Gaijin’s balancing department deserves to be fired lol.

So on the Russian dev-stream, the developers talked about potentially adding SAMP/T for Italy and France in the next major update. The problem? Aster-15 missile which has a range a bit similar to SLM is not compatible with SAMP/T launcher. Only the Aster-30 missile is compatible and that has a range of over 130km.

The solution for France then is to have MICA VL (range of around 20km) added. Please take a look into this topic and support it by voting on the poll.

Or could’ve had your hopes up for a new SPAA and then have its bigger brother be added making your brand new spaa obsolete immediately

Not really obsolete but SLS is nothing compared to SLM

could be a bigger leap in AA abilities accompanied by the better a2g munitions mentioned.

I think JSOW and SLAM would be pretty well suited to take on SAMP/T, and tbh its about time they added the 3

if the enemy doesnt have maws
its easy to counter if you know its coming
ADATs at least is harder to dodge as its guided by the player (if they can figure out where the missile is without its tracer)

Maybe they’ll redo the TT so that the Mi-4AV leads to this, then the Ka-29 after it. Instead of the current path through the Mi-24P.

Not likely, the only proof of it we have atm are cockpit instrument textures - a thing that map objects don’t need.

Usually it takes awhile for there to be another leap in A2G munitions after the addition of AA abilities. Can’t imagine both coming back to back at the same time right when people are already complaining about KH-38s.

I’d gladly trade away that POS for a J-10B… Even just something better than the current PL-12…

well with new SPAA being added this update, next one could be for even better AA and finally adding new munitions that are actual upgrades to USA, China, UK, etc.

I want SPICE so badly (for air battles), but I know they will be game breaking in ground battles so can’t demand them in good faith lol.

Tbh mate I’ve never played the Rafale so have no idea what those are like to use, I’d defer to the judgment of wiser folk on that one.

The way I’ve had SPICE 250’s explained to me is just like an F&F GBU39.

i mean that they dont actually work on tank size moving targets and just do stationary target ID to be more accurate striking positions
