Major Update “Hornet's Sting” — DEV Server Changelog (28.02.2025)

Yes, I am very much concerned about that change

No they haven’t
They haven’t fixed the Type 10’s armor
They haven’t fixed the dimensions of the tank
The autoloader
The weight
The length of the gun
The composite arrays and their correct thickness
They haven’t fixed the suspension bug
They haven’t fixed the acceleration bug
The autoloader is copy pasted
The additional ammo in the hull doesn’t exist irl it gets stored alongside the autoloader

They haven’t fixed anything to do with the TKX and Type 10 nor are they going to
They give 0 cares even when handed official sources.

To put this in perspective I wrote a report, I had all 1,000 pages translated
Cited the sources
Cited the paragraphs
Cited exactly where they can find the information
What they proceeded to do (yes I spammed however the point is a tech mod asked me specifically to do this) was ban me for spamming. I was following up on what a prior tech mod told me to do. He wanted me to cite the sources and do a better translation job and that’s what I did. They shot it down.
They can’t even get the dozer right for the TKX variants
In game it adds 0 weight, I have documents stating it weighs 1.5T and in game it’s also depicted as being flat but irl it has an S type shape to it

Like come on you can’t even make this stuff up. The way those 2 ranks are in game fit the very definition for a paper tank. They don’t exist in the configuration they have it set at. At 44 tons the TKX and Type 10 get a level 1 ERA and additional composite armor array attached.
It doesn’t even have that in game which is ludicrous. They added empty weight to the vehicles and called it a day even though there’s stuff missing from the tank and major amounts missing

Glad to see the US is getting GBU-54s finally on the F/A-18C. Why they didn’t have it when it was added to the game on any other aircraft equipped to carry it, although not surprising is still annoying.

Japanese TT get nearly nothing for this update, I just hope gaijin can fix the existing bugs of type 10.🤡

Those the LJdams? I forgot

If they’re putting them on the F18C I wonder if all the aircrafts capable of mounting them will also receive them

Does anyone know if cm704 will be added in this update or not?

Yes

would be really nice for gaijin to fix the bugs if they dont plan to add anything

They aren’t going to fix them lmao.
This is just only some of the reports I sent them about this tank. Looking for help with 3D rendering of what the tanks armor should look like. The type 10 shouldn’t weigh 44.1t in game.
It states specifically that it weighs this much with the level 1 modular armor package attached

Here’s a summary of the first report
Mitsubishi heavy industries research and prototype of future vehicle equipment (part 2)

Page 1-4

States modular armor

Internal armor

Exterior armor

Page 2-1

A tank that is better in maneuverability and survivability

Comprehensive protection against all round threats (direct protection from the armor on the frontal area, small silhouette due to miniaturization, IR stealth, ETC)

Weight

States during transportation must not exceed 40T

2-7 gives us further examples of the requirements

Strengthening comprehensive protection capabilities

"Have comprehensive protection power.”

"Modular armor”

Resistant to elasticity

Improving external defense

Improvement of adjacent protection performance

Reduced cell weakness

2-8 gives us further explanation of those requirements

Page 2-24 shows us how much the vehicle weighs

This goes in depth

The weight of the Type 10 is 44.410T with its base modular armor equipped

Type 90 weight vs MBT-X (TKX) Type 10

Autoloader weight reduced from

1,228KG to 890 or 950 KG

Main gun weight reduced

From 3,095t to 2,650t

Turret armor

Increased from 1.38T to 1.94T

Front body armor

Increased from 1.249T to 2.680T

Hull weight reduced

From 10.264T to 8.970T

Fuel equipment weight reduced

from 1.452t to 1.320t

Power plant weight reduced

From 6.321t to 4.2t

Turret basket weight Reduced

from .432t to .420t

Small arms ammo weight reduced

From .491t to .490t

FCS system weight reduced

From 9.53t to .950t

Main gun ammo weight reduced

From .938t to .830t

Suspension weight reduced

From 11.462t to 8.070t

Page 2-29 states

Transport weight does not include modular armor

Ammo

Etc

44.410t config does though

Page 2-29 states

Exhaust smoke is hard to see

Page 7-1

Increased firepower due to longer barrel

The ammunition alone increases penetration on top of the longer barrel

Better bullet performance to front and sides

They will probably add the T-84 oplot and call it a day

Even though Japan top tier has 6 versions of the same tank with different protection levels and ratings. Which in terms of balancing is super easy. However they won’t even do it. They don’t care

That’s sad, type 10 is an interesting tank.

If we take the base value of just the flat number of the armor itself
Considering they increased it (very conservative) by 1.4 times the amount compared to the type 90
We end up with around 620 on the UFP
791 for the turret cheeks

Again this info was given to the developers a full year before the actual tank released. This is a crucial detail they missed. The armor itself should stop DM53, the type 10 round was developed to be superior to DM53 and we have documentation on that as well that they outright ignored. Given everything thats been reported we can conclude
Penetration values of the type 10 round are currently incorrect
Turret cheek armor is grossly underestimated
UFP armor is grossly underestimated
Barrel length is incorrect
Breach length is incorrect
Autoloader model is copy/pasted from the type 90
The type 10 does not store additional ammo in the hull it is stored alongside the autoloader behind the commanders sighting area
What I would ask to be changed in terms of balance
Realistically we don’t need the round to be buffed
We don’t need every little thing corrected
Turret cheek armor values to be increased by 1.4x
UFP armor values to be increased by 1.4x
Rubber skirt bug to be fixed
Barrel length and breach length and size to be corrected to the correct size like it it IRL
Correct the acceleration of the tank it is quicker than the Type 90
Turret rotation speed to be corrected to its IRL values (40 degrees a second)
If possible correct modeling of autoloader
Remove hull ammo stowage move it to commanders side in the autoloader area
Do this and the tank would be correct

At minimum increase the turret cheek armor to 791 and UFP to 620
That’s all I ask

Type 10 would be my favourite tank ingame if not for the bugged steering (can’t turn without coming to full stop since it was introduced to the game 4 years ago) and inner turret cheek armor holes.

Pressing A/D for 0.6 seconds and going from 65 km/h to 25 is just not fun or practical.

Plus the underperforming armor all around in general. The thing is suppossed to be able to withstand the Type 10 round at 250m- but it barely can at 1,000.

It can do way more than that
Conservative estimate
Composite weight increased from type 90 to type 10 by 1.4 times
Using in game numbers (balancing reasons) we come to 620 for the UFP and 791 for the turret cheeks

Yo, fat snail, since you’re removing the R2Y2 can we lower the BR? Being in the same bracket as 9.0 vehicles is insane

Read above

The thing that puzzles me the most is that gaijin believes the Type 10 tank’s turret rotation rate is only 30 degrees per second, and the gun elevation rate is only 10 degrees per second.

T-84 Oplot? oh cool a tank i wont use

The zerstorer 45 is a kitbashed tank that never existed, and the Ostwind II being fictional/on paper

so why is the R2Y2 getting this treatment?

I would rather delay the arrival of the T-84 than have the issues with the Type 10 tank remain unresolved.🫠
