Sweden should have gotten the A in September alongside the F-16C and Mig-29SMT/G. Gaijin just screwed over Sweden not favoured Britain.
Given we had 11.3s to fight 12.0s.and then 12.3s…i think our complaining was justified for something and Britain had been rather neglected for a while at that point, which didn’t help.
How was this influenced by complaining when the Gripen came for Sweden and UK in the same update. Sure UK mains may have anticipated the addition of a South African gripen but they wouldn’t have know that Sweden wouldn’t get a C variant as well ?
MIG29G was delayed a patch as well tho.
Couldn’t remember which it dropped, but was then only 3 or 4 weeks. Still not the 12 weeks till the Gripen
I agree sweden should have gotten it earlier. But what could britain have gotten? Also whether the complaining was justified or not is not what I said. British mains just complain a LOT, I’m sure you’d agree with that.
Why did Britain get the Gripen C before Sweden? Because they complained enough that Gaijin gave them a Gripen. It just doesn’t make sense to add the A for Sweden, the nation which made the aircraft, and the C to britain which doesn’t even operate it directly.
Now, as morvran said they should have just added the Gripen A alongside the F-16C and MiG-29SMT, just as they should have added the F/A-18C alongside the EF-2000.

They added a SAAF Gripen, ZA is a subtree of the UK, ZA only operated the Gripen C.
Why Gaijin added an A to Sweden at the time? idk, but as it stands pretty much the only difference between the A & C in game is ARH missiles.
Would you rather Sweden not get a Finnish F-18 this update? The argument can go both ways.

I think we have a lot to complain about.
Our top tier MBTs are still basically unplayable and our TT ends at 10.7 for most
Our air tree is now reasonably solid, but in addition to no top tier in 2023. We got literally nothing else, not even good fillers. But the SHars added in 2022 have just gotten their placeholder HUDs replaced this update and it’s a major upgrade in SB…more buffs like EEGS are In the pipework. We also still get screwed over like Brimstones denied their IRL performance because they would be unfair Vs SPAA in the same update that added the Su-34.
Naval we are finally getting unscrewed with shell dispersal being fixed. It was 4x what it should have been. You literally couldn’t hit anything and we are finally playing catch-up. We had one of the smallest top tier naval lineups despite the royal navy being the biggest navy of the era. There was no excuse for that.
So, maybe we complain, but I don’t think any of it is unfounded and I think unlike some minor nations, we have just found our voice and won’t be ignored anymore

They added it early for britain because british mains complained… Sure as it stands now the Gripen A is only one more aircraft you have to grind before getting Fox 3s, but it doesn’t change the fact Britain got a better variant of a Swedish plane.
Isn’t the F-18C a worse version of the F/A-18C, is there really any kind of issues here? Sure I wish Sweden got a better variant right away but WT doesn’t work like that. Just see how it went for the German MiG-23s and MiG-29s getting added later for example.
But at the time… there was 0 difference between both. Neither had their fox 3 and other then camos, where IDENTICAL.

12 months after the F-16 and Mig-29 to me was very late not early. You wanted them to add F-15A, Su-27 and Gripen A, but leave Britain with the Tornado F3 just so that Sweden could get the A before Britain got the C, and then add the C 3 months later to both?
Yeah we’ve got problems with out MBTs too. But instead of complaining only for britain and sh*tting on the US in the process maybe we should just all respect our Nations and wish the best for them? I’m not saying you do it intentionaly, but I’ve seen British mains try to bring down the US in a really disgusting way just so Britain could be on top, and then complain some more, and I think that’s just unfair.
During the Air Superiority dev you and me actually discussed this and I realized that despite your complaining being presented in a seemingly “ungrateful” manner it was actually founded, and you wanted the best for the US Tree too. I think we both realized here that we weren’t ungrateful, what was happening to our nations was simply unfair and we voiced our concerns pretty brutally.
What could be added that would be good enough for Britain before the EF-2000? I certainly did not want the Eurofighter to get added in Air Superiority. Now this would have been game breaking.
The US Air Force is both the largest and the most technologically advanced Air Force in the world, followed only by the US Navy. Don’t you think that should also be represented in game?
All I’m saying is, now that you’ve got the EF-2000, you can maybe tone it down a bit for Air.
well, right now its a WORSE version of a swedish plane (Derbies are very much worse then aim120). BUT the A and C where IDENTICAL on launch?
which… it is? last i recal USA has always been top dog. best RWR, best missiles, BIAS “skill based” BRs (F4S at the same BR as the F4JUK, F15A lower BR then the SU27, F16A at 12.3 (EJ Kai and kurnas 2000 at the same BR))
The Eurofighter, Rafale, and SU-30SM are currently the best fighters in game, the F-15E is strong sure, but definitely not at everything. Now I’m not mad about that. I think it’s fair that this year the other nations get to enjoy a bit of superiority because we’re not far from 5th Gens, and when the F-22 and others drops the US is just going to dominate forever, at least until 6th Gens lol
