Major Update "Hornet Sting" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Well, the Naval Tejas is still a prototype, but if that comes about I’d happily take it.

There is definitely room for two aircraft between the Sea Harrier and the F-35 though, and there just so happen to be two Indian aircraft that could go there, assuming this Rafale M deal is finalized, which it likely will be.

Whether the Tejas actually gets a final naval version is still up in the air though

I’d compare J-10 to equivalent of F-2.

F-2 vaguely resembles F-16, just like J-10 vaguely resembles Lavi, but they are not the same, or even directly based on them.

F-2 was based on JF-210, as well as the Agile Falcon based SX-3 General Dynamics/Lockheed concept aircraft, just like J-10 was the result of previous J-9 and Israeli input from Lavi depelopment.

It would be wrong to say there was no influence, but it is also wrong to say they are the same or just variants.

I just hope Gaijin realize the dynamic and give us a nice J-10B (which is even more different from J-10A) and F-2A teaser today.

I mean by that that we don’t claim or want the EFT in our TT, after all we could say that we were part of the project, so we could have one in our TT, but that’s not the case.

I wholeheartedly agree, I’ve got some cracker jack within reach of me

The gap between the F-8E(FN) and M4K is 3.0, the gap between the SHAR and F-35 will be less than that. I suppose France needs a gap filler there too now. How about an Indian Sea Harrier FRS.51 since they used Magic IIs

That’s the kind of mental gymnastics this guy is performing.

A-4M actually did stay in service to get 9M. They were only fully retired from the Reserves by 1993-1996, AIM-9M entered service in 1982.

To add on even further: A-4M would not get access to LGBs, as it has no way of designating targets. It only has a laser-spot tracker in the nose, which can allow for another plane to buddy-lase for it (or ground-units to lase targets).

Early A-4M probably wouldn’t get a HUD or CCIP. It would get the APR-25 RWR, and in terms of weaponry, only AIM-9G/H and AGM-62.

Late A-4M would get a pretty good HUD, ALR-45F RWR, IFF, full ballistics calculator, AIM-9L, Walleye, and if Gaijin really wanted to stretch things: AGM-65F.

You responded directly to the post which was pointing out the “which plane is better” arguments. So if that’s what you meant, it was a very strange post to pick to respond too:

Obviously the best one will be the F-4F Phantom Ice, which shot down 5 Rafale in a training battle 😂

Not really given that India is literally part of the UK tree now and has been for a good while ;)

Hardly, for one India is a British subtree, and I never claimed or implied that other gaps shouldn’t be filled, just that this one in the British tree very much can be

@BearHasLanded

Congrats to both of you for missing the entire point of the post.

Perhaps bad choice of direct text to answer, my bad, but it was really against the usual “UK need the Rafale”.

I’m not part of the wich is better problem, i’m more focus on the problem that some UK people always talk about getting the Rafale.

No, you went hyperbole lol. Use a more reasonable and similar argument. If an ex colony of France used Harrier/Sea Harrier which could become a sub tree of France, then it would be similar. (personally I am fine with a Spanish 1 going to France, but I think those are more so going to Italy so, oh well)

Trailer name prediction??? Hornet’s Nest! ???

If you meant for the British tree, the Indian Sea Harrier, which I do definitely want, would only be 13.0 at the most, with Magic 2s and Derbys, so it would make more sense in a folder with the Sea Harrier FA.2 or as a Premium/Squadron vehicle

It does not fill that gap though

I’m not getting into this argument with you. It was literally only used to show a point. The fact you are so defensive about it after being told you missed the point reenforces my argument.

Have a good one.

Ok. Didnt know about it receiving 9M so thanks for that. And while yeah it cant actually use the laser bombs its still an option but one that would likely not be added unless Gaijin adds buddy lasing

I mean, you’re the one getting defensive about an Indian service aircraft going to the British tree, even though India is a British subtree.

I’m sure the Russian aren’t happy about the prospect of the SU-30MKI or the MiG-29K

But if we aren’t getting at least some of those vehicles then what is the point of the subtree?

What would you suggest differently, other than just removing India as a subtree?

Didn’t even realize it was event lol, I jumped straight to the end to look for the “That’s it for the day” xD

One of the main point of subtrees is to stop gap.

What gap gonna fill the Rafale since you already have a really similar plane like the EFT wich gonna have upgrades in the future ?

Why would people grind France if their best domestic plane are in another TT, alongside more choices of planes (EFT and all) ?

You’r just sound like hypocrit people who want to play everything in your main TT even if that would destroy the interest of others TTs and despite your TT not having direct link with it outside “subTT” choices made by Gaijin.
