Major Update "Hornet Sting" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Even if the engine eats itself, still impressive to hit 3.2 on a combat aircraft.

Really depends, a company and group have been formed and agreements have been signed.

One thing for certain is the rest of the world is fed up of being dependant on the US.
Having a platform that has no input from the US means it can challenge on the global export market.
Can control the weapon systems that are compatible.

It’s going to be a political minefield and the US are not going to like it.

doesnt france not already have the Dunkerque? its pretty normal for 2 ships of a class to be added one as a tech tree one as an event (look at the QE class) not to mention they can still get the Richelieu and Jean Bart when we get more ww2 designs (having 8 15inch guns with out having to go broadside is gonna be pretty silly)

The Strasbourg is straight-up better than the Dunkerque
And not by just 5mm of armor in a useless place

Not ugly. Big engine, and MiG-25PD wouldnt be that bad from what I’ve heard.

Would be far more valuable addition to game than some light vehicle no one has ever heard of

Yes and no. GIven that was designed in a panic and was bad in every other respect

  • Be very fast
  • Carry large SARH missiles
  • Have a very powerful radar
  • Be cheap and quick to mass produce
  • Be easy to repair without specialised logistics or training

It was apparently a total brick and was difficult to fly.

oh I just assumed like most classes it would have slight differences what makes it out right better?

Well, flying anything meant to go mach 3+ probably demands some higher level of piloting skill

Brick is fine, since like you said it carries big missiles.

MiG-31, I would go as far as to say it would be decent

Except the Strasbourg is an uparmored Dunkerque, so it’s just plain better. (around 50mm more armor in the belt, dunno every others changes)

So they hide the best French ship currently (when the TT already lack options) behind event.

This is Gaijins MO.

If they want people to touch naval events they need a reason to make people grind them. Locking key vehicles behind events is exactly what they do (looking at Renown and Barham)

oof, tbf they did the same with the UK having Renown and Barham being an event ships when they were better then the top ship in the tree at the time

Armor differences between Dunkerque and Strasbourg

Yeah perhaps, but France TT is really lacking, doing right now some event ship is just sad, specially thoses choices.

I mean im kinda okay with it because it means I dont have to play ANOTHER naval tree to get a ship I actually like

but dont get me wrong I know what you mean

Damn really some armor upgrade almost everywhere…

Shame on you Gaijin.

I would say they should have made the dunkerque the event ship but then you have the lead ship of the class being the event ship which doesnt feel right

Yep.
Or Dunkerque premium and Strasbourg TT at worst.

But they really don’t like to add premium to any French TT, this would lower the winrate, and it’s their favorite excuses sinces years to “balance” us and not owrk that much.

not really, especially for a tech tree that was just added

Germany: 25 bluewater
France: 21 bluewater

germany historically always had a smaller navy then france, thats not really a fair comparison lol

(the soviets that barely had a navy have 25 blue water ships btw)

Yeah, i still see some cool French tech/turret on German ships (like the main turret of the Koln) that i still want to see in the French TT… Specially for coastal.

“100 mm/55 MLE model 53 cannon” does this sound German? x)

And what about you enjoy the meta since years with the Scharnorst ?
Lucky the way the game calcul armor boost that much your ships.
