i really thought super hornet would be the summer vehicle along with an F-15 or F-16 upgrade but this was a surpise. i like the jet, navy workhorse and all, but just caught off gaurd.
i dont see why that makes it so bad though, with the amount of vehicles US has to add around this era, im kinda glad they are doing a lot of them in one go so they dont take years and years to be added
Not really an issue with them coming at a similar time, however given that this is the first of the Hornets we are seeing, what is the point in adding all the major variants at once, having an IR/SARH only as a squadron or prem is fine as long as the F/A-18C (by far the most notable variant of the hornet) is the main on added to tech trees
in my opinion it would not be obsolete because if both gets added much likely the C Legacy hornet its going under the AV-8B+ and the Super Hornet under the F-14B and the A+ as premium, we are going to have the option to chose between the E and C, you can have more armament and better radar but a worse flight performance and in the other hand the same armament, better flight performance, less armament, worse radar for me its a sidegrade than an upgrade. and for the ones who thinks in the A that thing is just completly out of date it does not make any sense to add it at this point it just going to disturb the grind making it longer, harder and painfull.
I don’t know much; but it seems like it’s a middle ground between Type 81 (C) and PATRIOT; with a range of 50 km, top speed of Mach 2.5 and 73kg warhead. I don’t know about G-pull though.
