Well, as of recent, gaijin has stopped being truly “historically accurate”. The reason I added it as an optional inclusion is to make the tech tree vehicle feel more superior to the premium vehicle, rather than being a copy and paste addition for a poor attempt of reasoning with the community.

Quick question: wouldn’t the Amagi variant we have in-game then be an exception to that rule? Given that, according to the devs, it’s based on the 1919 Preliminary drawings rather than the finalized design that was laid down.
stretching the terms for what can come doesnt mean straight fiction it isnt even technically feasible or “could be mounted and operated if they tried”

What do you mean? It was an option they successfully tested it on the F-14A but by the time the 14D was coming in they had already decided they were not keeping it and didn’t want to spend the money on that upgrade. It is in the same realm as the R27 on the IRAF or any of the missiles on the YAK-38.

true, I doubt we will as it sounds like they are only meant for nuclear escalation atm but I hope we get them

it’s a F-14A none the less. Meaning the capability was there and tested with it being capable but they were getting rid of the the line.

it isnt. if you strapped an amraam to a random f14a or any f14 for that matter it wouldnt work. radar and software doesnt work that way. it was purposely modified for testing. that specific f14a can just be added as an event vehicle
also r27 on the f14 iriaf isnt possible either

with out the ASMs they are kinda mid, the California would have 2 single Mk13 mounts and 2 single 5 inch mounts, 2 phalanxes while being unarmoured and the size of a cruiser
the Sovremenny on the other hand would be a lot better with 2 dual 130mm, 4 AK630s, 2 single SA-N-7s while also being pretty unarmoured and somewhere between most destroyers and cruisers in size

True but more missile ships means the modern crowd has something to play cause thats where naval is going wait until we get OHP or a Burk class ship heck I take 1980s UK missile ships as well
