Why not? The penetration of the M829A2 and M829A3 isn’t much different. It might be the same between the DM53 and DM73, but the DM73 will have better penetration than the Era.

Mode 2 directly involves MMw too. Which is exactly what ignores smoke.
MMw has different effects than IR and can be disrupted in other ways and by other means. Not just phsyically cutting of the visuals with thinks like smoke on IR.
ARMs and Brimstones are two very different things, with different capabilities, limitations, targets and potential options.

Ah but that would require them to add it to Germany first and with the German Cope that means it’ll never be added so checkmate lol. Realistically though I don’t think we’ll see the 2A8 for a while anyways

There hasn’t been much if any development on the JAS39E since it launched 6 months ago and it’s still missing a lot of basic features like spherical RWR and upgraded HMD which was just copy-pasted from the JAS39C

Just make necessary a laser designation to get a lock, if it doesnt get the laser signal it just doesnt lock and it is wasted.
Just make it work like an IR missile, if it loose the lock with trees or a wall or a destroyed tank it doesnt track the original target anymore and just limit the brimstone number to 6.

Definetly a C&P of the US one. But it means that IASM can be used to change it now.

M829A3 penetrates 633mm, which is already still less than DM53’s 652mm.
DM73’s penetration, if I recall correctly, would be around 690mm.
Do the very best armored and mosr survivable tanks in the game also need 690mm pen shells because apparently 652mm are still not enough because a tank with much worse armor got a 633mm pen shell…?
Just give DM53 its anti-ERA tip and it will already be a much better M829A3 anyway.
