However, the rotating floor and turret rotation can operate independently.
i know the basket is real but its got no affect on the turret drive?
if either of these were damaged would you expect the turret traverse to become non-functional?

Like i couldn’t care less about dogmaster. Both 25 and 30mm. 35mm is where we talk and even then it a stretch. Considering most of the 30mm+ bushmaster have Spike, you will meet Russian MBT that can withstand side APFSDS shots before blowing you off to the moon.
Reminds me of how Scimitar when it was initially modelled had all the communications systems set up as optical and fire control, and the RARDEN linked to optics until it got proven to them no, thats a radio, no, rarden doesnt work that way.
So I do assume some of this is turret traverse stuff, but wouldnt be surprised if gaijin got a lil zealous.

In theory either of them could be damaged to the extent that they physically obstruct turret traverse, but that would only be after a catastrophic penetration of the hull so I think the crew would be focusing on something else.

Yeah, and as a UK main I do agree with its addition. The CR2 turret “basket” is very small in comparison to those on Leopard 2 and Abrams.

theoretically if the rotating floor in the hull wasnt working would that also mean the turret drive wouldnt work aswell?
Especially given the CR2 doesnt even have a turret basket IRL.
