Can you guys just make it a direct upgrade from the F-14B and give the F-14D access to AIM-9M instead?

Nevermind. I expect better arguments when I see an Orao not dropping to Yugoslavia tree in a few hours. I am more a Yugoslavian tree fan than a F-14D fan

What was the need for a F-14 as a premium with no changes to its load-out, wheres its nearly identical to the F-14B with just a radar, irst and a name change?

War Thunder players being told naval aircraft go in the naval line and not the strike aircraft line

We don’t know that the IRST is properly modeled as a sensor and not just a slapped on copy of the F-14B’s TCS with first gen thermals, and so doesn’t actually do anything useful.

lotta cope that they would bother with IRST being modeled as a sensor

Attackers tend to go in the Attack like, otherwise thinks like the F3D, AV-8C, A-7E and AV-8B+ are all in the wrong line.

Well yeah, because those are primarily strike aircraft. The hornets are multirole naval fighters and more appropriate in the naval line.

They did for other aircraft.

What aircraft did they replace on deck? it wasn’t the F-14, its not a fighter.

@gromvoiny why not add AIM-7P and AIM-9M to F14D? We already have 2 passed issues for F14B, it should also able to be applied to F14D
AIM-7P
AIM-9M

As we have already said, currently these racks dont exist. If/when they do, we will be happy to take a second review.

Currently its just graphic renders.

they were designed as a multirole aircraft to both fight and strike, so that they were initially a cheaper/lower maintenence alternative to the f-14 and a6 , they replaced F-4s and A-7s

At BR 13.3, the two bosses—the Su-30MK2/MKK—make poor American players think the F-14D can carry six AIM-120s at 13.3. In reality, they don’t even have AIM-9Ms.

TIL I learned the letter A in F/A-18 is America and FJ-4B is a ground based aircraft.

F-14s if I remember right did serve as the main CAP of US carrier groups while I believe the F-4 continued to fill that multi role till the F-18 entered service
