What do you think japan needs then? CAS issue comes to mind, lack of armored top tier MBT, better stop gap till F-2, no proper SPAAs… Thailand could provide that
Tbh Thailand alone can’t fix all problems Japan has / fill the gaps. Generally speaking; we’ve created a ASEAN Aviation Sub-TT suggestion to show off what options exist that could be added, it’s pending approval at the moment. (Focused on as much non-C&P as possible, but still fill the BR gaps.)
As off now Singapore is the only Nation that can provide new SAM (SPYDER-SR) above the Type 81(C). I am aware Japan has Type 11, however it’s probably arguably too strong for now and unlikely to be added any time soon if you ask me.
These main battle tank to great britain tech tree rank 8 and after Vickers Mk.7, my guess
But gajin not add M1A1 new variant for USA tech tree 2 years
Doesn’t this exact same argument exist against Spyder though?
We’ve been suffering beyond comprehension with Chaparral because everyone keeps saying a Derby / Python-5 SAM system would be OP.
Nothing can fix ALL problems but Thailand sounds like a valid addition for gap filling. Light attack jets, armored MBTs, top tier CAS, more light tanks / IFVs and even ATGM carriers.
Thailand wont fill any gaps but very top tier
Don’t get me wrong, the SPYDER-SR is quite strong (even though Pantsir is around on par with it IMO), but Type 11 has some features (and/or problems) which could delay it, if it’s even considered by the Devs since it requires the external KCU, just like Type 81(C), where I am currently not sure about Gaijin consideres as independent or not.
That does seem to be the area snail cares about the most when it comes to subtrees
What are those low tier gaps that need filling?
The devs said in the RU devstream for update " Fire and Ice " that this SAM was in development, so it doesn’t seem like it 's in a situation where it 's not going to be added - just hasn’t been added yet, a situation that plenty other vehicles have been in, in the past. F-104S-ASA and it 's AIM-9L 's come to mind.
Idk if I’d say Pantsir is on par with it.
Python-5’s are absolutely insane. Worse range than Pantsir, but basically a guaranteed kill on anything they’re fired at.
I can’t see that thing coming anytime soon either.
I mean looking at the suggestion they would add quite a bit of stuff at some BRs where Japan isn’t as strong.
Forreal?
I have heard / seen absolutely nothing about that in any of the Israel SPAA threads I follow.
Even Gripen C
But Thai T-84 kinda weird
Mid tier and high tier has all the gaps I never said anything about low tier
For swedish JAS39 Gripen C in sweden tech tree would be MS20 standard
I guess gajin might convert PS-05/A to PS-05 Mk.4 radar 2025 or 2026
JAS39C EBS HU from italy tech tree it’s MS19 (PS-05 Mk.3 radar) but not armed IRIS-T before upgraded to MS20 Block 2
Gajin could add
Unlike swedish and another operators, 1 precision-guided munition GBU-16 Paveway II LGB and Litening III targeting pod
and currently SAAF service limited 5th infrared Air-to-Air Missile
AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM and Litening 5 targeting pod like JAS39 Gripen E. except engine, airframe & radar
I don’t think so, my favorite combination would be founding ASEAN members, which is half of ASEAN, namely those that use a majority western style equipment. The biggest outlier being Thailand, which is made up for by them also using the most Japanese equipment and have the strongest connection to Japan of the bunch.
For Singapore though I understand Israel fully, since there is a heavy technical connection between the nations. Individually it would make sense with both ASEAN or Israel.
I do think though that ASEAN might be better, since Gaijin seems to do “themed” subtree groups, like British subtrees all being Commonwealth, Sweden all being Nordic, Italy being “minor Axis” and France being BeNeLux. For Israel I’d assume it would be something Latin American, which Singapore wouldn’t fit into too well.
But even then it’s just about a tie between fitting the “theme” of the subtree, or simply being a more technically related placement. It’s really only personal preference that I’d rather see them with ASEAN.
Honestly, as long as Israel gets its unique Asian exports (Like Sabrah). And a Singaporean Spyder doesn’t end up in the Chinese tree, I’m fine with whatever.
Fair enough on the exports. The Sabrah could even be added in multiple variants to Israel, with the demonstrator featuring APS and CITV that I believe didn’t actually end up on the production version.
Spoiler
Yeah… I’m still waiting for my Japanese CAS, interceptor and super props that were promised to me 8 years ago.
E.G. G3M-, Ki-48-, Ki-46-, Ki-64, Ki-74 and Ki-88 variants.
