Fair enough, I mainly just end up using it as a missile bus (4 AAM-4s, 2 AIM120s, 2 AAM-3s) I don’t have bombs yet because I’m trying to save the bonus research for when we get something else at top tier.
At best will be on par to current F-16s in maneuverability tho we of course know the changes nade to it basically make it into a different FM game wise…and should actually turn bit sharper.
And that visual model become ‘wrong’ visual model for now.
Not Gaijin’s fault, as there were serious debate about shape of some parts of Yamato’s superstructure over last year, when already Gaijin made visual model of Yamato, and critical evidence revealed that her superstructure at 1945 differs from both blueprint and her sister ship Musashi.
I’d say it’d be quite a bit more agile, turning sharper and getting more control authority for pitch and roll from the difference in the wings and control surfaces. Lower Stall speed too.
Not sure if they model the FBW Maneuver Load Control and Maneuver Enhancement with the flight model, but if they do it’ll be even more agile.
Decoupled Yaw would also be fun, but I have a feeling it might be too specific for them to model.
Best case they model all of it, but probably just the obvious physical differences and not any of the FBW stuff, especially considering the F-16s in game don’t seem to have Maneuver Load Control, only the games less advanced automatic flap system.
Worst case they say “Haha heavy F-16” and it’s a slower F-16. This one is unlikely though at least in my opinion
Yeah reason i said that is mainly because i doubt gaijin will put much effort in the F-2. I mean look at AAM-4 its just a “worse AMRAAM” In their eyes but im hopeful.
Watch one of the Thai F-16 be the next event reward lol
I think the AAM-4 is purposefully nerfed right now until AIM-120Cs show up. Then they’ll unnerf it. They kinda have to because AAM-4B would be too strong.
It depends on what Gaijin thinks… AAM-4 and PL-12 are both AIM-120C level in terms of kinetic performance, but ingame they have shorter range than AIM-120A and B. China will be stuck with PL-12 until PL-15, which is a massive jump. If China is stuck with PL-12 in its current state when AIM-120C is added then that may be an issue. Right now PL-12 is using data of export SD-10 with reduced motor burn time due to lack of information.
AAM-4B is more on the level of AIM-120D and even better in some aspects, with it using an AESA seeker.
I’m sure that Gaijin knows it’s strong. We but fortunately the aircraft that can use the AAM-4 (F-2 and F-15J(M)) can be placed pretty high in BR and keep being up BR’ed as necessary with decompression. Thus they can up the AAM-4 performance over time as it goes up in BR.
Can’t wait for pl15’s to be equivalent to an aim120c.
Hopefully they will add few variants, A and B can be in the regular TT, while MB premium. Although looking at how they treat subtrees, they won’t…
*You hope
So true… PL-15 is at most a Meteor equivalent, at the very least an AIM-120D equivalent. But whether Gaijin will actually model it somewhat accurately remains to be seen.
Oh, so this is THAT deep the rabbit hole goes…
No, I didn’t know the NATO codification (and in general I don’t use it, preferring the original names) until I became interested in why the snail called the Su-27 “slotback”
it’s hard to compare PL-15 and Meteor, Meteor is quite a special missile. But it’s surely PL-15 is better than any AIM-120, because of its size and dual rocket, so the AIM-260 is developed to catch the gap.
if you define a Missile’s performance with it’s motor then you can surely compare Meteor and PL-15
Meteor is just a Solid fuel ramjet cruise missile which gives it a range advantage over regular rocket powered AAMs of it’s size
Dev server new update released
Waiting for big news from Mr. gszabi
I think its safe to assume this will be the last update?
Anything new in any of the trees for those of us that are at work?
