Major Update "Firebirds" - Rumor Round-Up & Discussion (Part 3)

Thats going to be quite strong at 4.3 wow, I can very easily see that going to 4.7 by the live

Great, I’m not against the introduction of CAS for Japan at all.

It remains to be answered how the introduction of CAS for Japan is not connected with Germany?

And why can’t Germany get a slightly worse analogue of Tornado Gr.4 in the same patch?

The most likely reason is that there is objectively no reason to play German air after WW2 other then to support ground. Even with the Eurofighter, the prospect of grinding out the tree that far is questionable as the UK would have access to it on top of their own indigenous vehicles and those from their subtrees. They don’t have anything interesting enough to warrant the grind outside of supporting ground.

NOT so glide, but it has bigger wings and longer range than normal type

No doubt they have a little stockpile just a question of are we sure it’s ok to add this or do they need it at this time.

Woooooo! Yeeeeah baby! That’s what I’ve been waiting for that’s what it’s all about

Bomber cockpits

Two thoughts today.

  1. Why can’t Germany just get a new Tornado for more CAS options? Seems silly to gate them.

  2. Can we get some UMPC glide bombs for the Su-24 and Su-34 if we’re not going to get GROM-E1 anymore?

I’m a bit of a masochist; I love playing as a T-72B in pitch-dark, rainy night maps back in the day and using IR flashlight. (not a fan of clear weather night map) while my teammates got slaughter by NATO tanks.

Guys, upvote this report please. Its regarding IAS being accounted for air-to-ground munitions drop speed and vapor cone effect instead of relative to ground speed

Same! When I sign up for night battles I want it to be actually dark, y’know

It’s also sad that a whole era of visible light/IR illuminators are left out of night battle entirely

Su-34 still has the GROM-2, which is same as GROM-1, except it replaced its booster with charge.

why? it still gets grom e2

There’s probably quite a while between when we get to that stage, she is the penultimate battleship completed by the UK depending on what sort of range she is allowed to engage at (she won’t be as good close-in as KGV or Nelson)

I would say a little bit before Iowa also. It’s one of those cases where introduction date =/= capability in-game and its hard to build ships whilst bombed. Really she was intended to be more of a NoCal/SoDak/Bismarck equivalent and were not intended to be the ships to slug it out with the likes of the Iowa class, that was reserved for the Lion class and their briefly-started successors.

The shells are faster, but retain the same weight, irl the shells had much improved shell design compared to the current one’s on Hood and Renown, in-game that isn’t factored leading to a 30-40% reduction in penetration capabilities iirc.

She should probably be added as a Bismarck competitor as KGV is a little bit worse (due to being like 7,000 tonnes lighter) and Nelson is a little bit better if she gets her historical best fire rate of 35 seconds.

Protection is increased over the other 15" designs though reduced compared to KGV and Nelson (better scheme than Nelson though), she also doesn’t have an angled belt which for me is the biggest single design flaw with the design as Britain literally invented angled armour for battleships and then didn’t use it here??

The AA is probably some of the best we will see and the FCS is the best we will see unless Gaijin gives the Iowa’s in a Korean war refit.

Yeah, still easily one of the best good bombs in the game as it is

I guess for better range? The FAB-500 models would be like half the weight of the E2’s, and could replace the hole in the plane’s modification tree.

Fast RoF and good sap pen nice

the range maybe, but there’s no hole in the modifications - I’d call them quite packed actually

Would be nice to have them on the Su-24 at least, since most other strike fighters at the BR now have 250kg and 500kg glide bombs.

GROM-2 is still the best glide bomb. It’s basiclly a pipe full of charge and with a wing. 400kg equal TNT/ 600kg weight and, it’s shape provides low drag
