The IDL was introduced sometime in the late '90’s early '00s, and the F-15E retained backwards compatibility with the earlier pod(s), as they were remanufactured from the AXQ-14 over time, as the shell and hardback were retained with the improved datalink.
As far as I know all it will receive is the GBU-15, but may get the alternate IIR seeker / Mk84. warhead / Short chord variant, potentially in addition to, but may replace the existing Electro Optical seeker version that is otherwise present on most US Aircraft.
Yes, for use with the AGM-142. In the following image the AXQ-14 can be seen on the; dedicated rear, center-line station that the F-111’s have specifically for the datalink.

Also what iam really exited about the upcoming update and not talked much about is this change:
“The majority of Shrapnel, HE-TF, and HE-VT shells between 40mm and 155mm calibre now have togglable airburst fuzes.”
This makes SPHs so much bedder since i dont have to divide between HE and HE VT anymore (except there is a bedder HE shell available) and can shoot Tanks and airplanes without woring to much about running out of shells for either on typ like before.
and this looks like the weird russian shrapnell rounds could become a meme

Shrapnel shells are already a meme but this change may make them even more memey by using it as a shotgun against open tops.

Gaijin keep refusing the Euro canards while each update adding more and more potent US/Russian aircraft. While the comment is tongue in cheek. By the time the Tranche 1 Typhoon/Rafale come US and Russia will have something superior.

Personally, USAF only equipped AN/AXQ-14 with GBU-15 on F-111F and ANG F-4E

Nah release fire birds this week (preferably tuesday or wednesday) and release the december update right before christmas.
I have multiple vehicles to grind for this update, so I need some time to get those done before the december update.
Going of previous release dates, we still set for a normal December patch timeframe, its just likely to get devblogs almost immediately after this patch goes live.
Given how the dates work out, a 17th-19th december patch is still on the cards with a normal devblog release prior.
