It will be useless in Air RB agreed, because ARB is a team deathmatch with name tags, not at all suitable for CAS.
In ground RB though you don’t have markers, so with 2x 2000lb bombs and stealth you could make it work. It all depends on how well they model it’s stealth.
People on here are so hostile to this aircraft they won’t even entertain the idea it could be OK. Not great but OK.
TL:DR They’re 381mm guns taken from the Battlecruisers Courageous and Glorious and improved, basically the goal of the Vanguard Class design was to take the 381mm guns from the R-Class battleships and put them on a faster KGV-based hull which would make them 7 knots faster as the R class were very slow and therefore not ‘useful’. Due to the war kicking off, they re-used the turrets in storage from the Battlecruisers but with tonnes more armour added so the battleships weren’t out of the war.
If you are more interested on the actual purpose of Vanguard here is my slightly longer response.
you guys are forgetting that as far as stealth goes F-117 will be easily visible against the blue sky and SPAA players can simply guide the missile without lock
It’s a brick, for sure, but a stealth brick! and the first at that too, it’s a huge milestone for the game.
I’m not really excited for the 7th F-15 Version or some Su-27 strike varient tbf, but that’s my opinion.
Check if there are clouds/night/fog you could use before you spawn it in.
If not, try to approach from a different angle/altitude than people would expect. SPAA can’t see everywhere all at once, you see this in low tier before everyone gets radar. People who are used to radar carrying their ahh will be complacent and not scanning everywhere manually.
Basically, even in worst case scenario with clear blue sky it’s easier to avoid detection by mk.1 eyeball than all-seeing radar
